Hey guys! There are two weeks until school starts again, so I figured I'd make an update.

Check out the MadAve website which has been updated recently in the "About Us" Section. It's quite funny... my favorite part is this:

Mad Ave kicked off the new millenium by releasing a third CD called "We Are the Address" in 2000, which, to everyone's relief, unlocked the mystery of the origins of their cryptic name.

And of course, I am very very very excited for the new school year, which will mean lots of new concerts. ::sighs dreamily::

Oh, and if anyone is a tenor or knows any tenors, tell them to try out for MadAve in the fall. Because MadAve will be auditioning for all parts, but they especially need tenors. And there was a top secret MadAve camping trip during the summer, but I don't know much about that.

Wow, so I'm a horrible community maintainer. How about that?

Anyway, at this very moment our beloved MadAve is practicing. How exciting is that, I ask you?

The past weeks have been good for our MadAve. The Official Website has been thoroughly updated, complete with pictures and biographies of the members of the group. It has brought me a great deal of amusement, as my roommate can tell you.

There was JamFest. Oh, JamFest. It was my first JamFest, and oh, so incredible. We were all treated to "Sex, Drugs, & Candy ...the story of... 36 Madison Avenue." A series of video clips it was, between songs. SO FUNNY. If you missed it, cross your fingers and hope it's someday available on DVD.

Tomorrow is the End of Classes Jam, the last a capella concert of the year, and the last concert that Jared and Rob will be singing at. This is TRAGIC. It pains my heart to even think of the two of them leaving. So... be there. Tomorrow night, 9:30, probably in the UC. IT WILL ROCK.

That's all I have to say for now. Sorry for not updating this sooner.

Peace,

Three things...

1. If you go to the MadAve website, currently the first picture you'll see was taken by me. I feel proud.

2. MadAve performed this past Saturday, and debuted Hey Ya, which is a really excellent song. If you want any pictures from it, or want MadAve pictures in general... ask me, I have taken many.

3. This is the important part. There was a Pants Auction tonight, and I bought a Personal Concert from MadAve for $62, thus disproving any illusion anyone may have of my sanity... but yeah... it's worth it. I get to pick the songs. So far I've narrowed it down to Call and Answer, Longest Time, Your Smiling Face, Tribute, Not the Same, Hey Ya, Lullabye, and Comfortable. I may have to take three of those out, but we'll see...

4. MadAve was in the Acorn last week. How special.

And that's all for now... Peace

The bad news...

MadAve won't be moving forward with the ICCA to the finals or whatever.

The good news...

They got pretty damn far, and at the competition yesterday, Alex Barron won Outstanding Vocal Percussion for his performance in "I'll Be."

The results page is here, and you'll find MadAve under the Mid-Atlantic region.

Peace.

Today.

36 Madison Avenue.

ICCA.

Cornell.

Whether they win or lose, I'll still love them. That's really all that matters.

So, my plans for today:
1. Wear my MadAve shirt.
2. Sing "I'll Be," "Your Smiling Face," and "Tribute," over and over again.
3. Kill a small animal as a sacrifice to the Gods of MadAve
4. Try to figure out why MadAve is so FUCKING EXCELLENT.

Be well, all. AND I'M SO PROUD OF MY BOYS!!!

So... are you psyched?

This Saturday, March 13, MadAve will be competing at the ICCA (International Competition of Collegiate A capella) Mid-Atlantic Semifinal. The show will start at 8:00, and will take place at the Sage Chapel at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.

How I wish I could attend. Anyone who has the means of getting there should go. Sigh...

It could be worse though. I am about to spend the greater part of my spring break with one of the MadAve guys... Ben. The hot one, you know? Oh wait, they're all hot. It's really special. Yeah.

And I feel like taking a vote. Who here thinks that [info]kingshowman is crazy? If you want proof of his craziness, read the past entries in this community. But of course... who am I to talk?

Peace out, y'all.

New Poll of the Day: Who is better, 36 Madison Avenue or the Son of God, Jesus Christ?

If JC, do you mean Jim Caviezel Jesus or Bible Jesus? Also, do you like it better when Jesus is clean-shaven or when he's a little scruffy?

I personally think people may have taken that do unto others thing a little more seriously if he had found the time to shave in the morning. I mean, who wants to take advice from a supreme being who can't seem to track down a razor? Does he go to job interviews like that? Pussshaw.

Note: Jesus Christ, our lord and personal savior, is not to be confused with JC Chasez of N' Sync, bringer of such fine tunes as that hit he had whose name I forgot.

Fellow fanboys/fangirls/fancitizens of God's green earth, I have but a solitary question for your kind persual today, a question that hopes for naught in this world but to be united with its answer, its eternal and unyielding companion, so that it might become whole in the way the donut never shall be. (I weep for you O lonely Donut! I weep!)

Would you kill a fellow human being for the greater glory of Madave?

Ponder this question long, and ponder this question hard, but choose wisely my friends.

For someday the morrow may come when Madave needs a favor from you.

Are you ready to selflessly sacrifice the life of another so that Madave might grow in the hearts and minds of men? Wilst thou be a martyr to stand all time for they who call themselves '36 Madison Avenue'?

Think of their courageous sacrifice, glimmering in the accursed acapella spotlight! But all that glimmers must some day fade away, and so must Madave too, if we have not the heart to repay those noble steeds for their unending and thankless service to the common good and lot of mankind!

The world must know of their orange pants and multiple lovers! The world must know of the faces of madmen who sing with the voices of angels! The world must know of their secret recipe sealed with the blood of 70 virgins, known to outsiders mysteriously as only 'Madave Punch'! The world must know of their their curious infatuation with Pinocle! The world must know how they ended the cold war and how they invent renewable energy sources while they are not singing!

Someone must tell the world, but the price of the tale is nothing short of the blood of the innocent.

Will it be you?

Hey there.

I am a dork. I was recently wondering to myself how I can become a better MadAve fan. The fact that I went to all of their concerts, made signs, bought their CDs, and even made MadAve pants just didn't seem like enough to show my devotion.

So I settled on this. A LJ community.

The purpose of this is to give MadAve fans a place to discuss their favorite a capella group. I personally plan to post MadAve news and pictures, and I urge others to do the same. Think of it this way... on March 13, MadAve is going to compete in the semifinals of the International Competition of Collegiate A capella. They need the support of their fans. Plus, having their own LJ community will make them look more intimidating to other a capella groups.

And now, to start off this great community... Some reasons I love MadAve... )

And now tell all your friends to join this community, while I sit here and try not to feel very silly. Ah, to be a fangirl...

Peace,
C squared
