I'm playing a game where I try to drink 365 different kinds of beer over the course of a year. (I played last year and got to, like, 80. I'm taking the goal much more seriously, this year. ;)) And it occurs to me that, as this is a noble goal, perhaps others would share it, if I were to tell them about it.
So, I'll post reviews of the beers I drink. I'm not a true beer snob--I probably won't be able to describe these beers like wine snobs describe their wines--but I'll do what I can. And hopefully others will join, and they will share their impressions of the beers they drink, and we can all learn from one another. If you find a neat microbrewery, come post about it, because I'm all for keeping microbreweries in business. If you find some horrible beer you want to warn us against, do it.
Maybe the "rules" of the community will change as time passes and more people join. (Apparently, fun contests, like read 50 books in a year, can spawn giant LiveJournal communities. But I think we can handle it.) Right now, the only rules that come to mind are:
That third one encompasses the others, probably, but eh.
There's also a rating system, with stars.
So, yeah. Drink beer. Have fun. Have a designated driver, if you're out.

- You have to be of legal age to drink in whatever country you live in. If you aren't, please have the decency to lie and say you are.
- You have to drink 4oz of a beer for it to count. (This means most place's samplers count toward your goal.)
- Please use <lj-cut> tags </lj-cut> if your post grows longer than a textarea, or if you post pictures.
- Please don't be a jerk.

There's also a rating system, with stars.
- 5 stars: This is wondrous! I would buy a keg/case of this. Or two!
- 4 stars: I would definitely like to have this again. I would buy a six pack.
- 3 stars: This was tasty. I'd buy another bottle, sometime, for sure.
- 2 stars: Eh, this really wasn't so good. If someone bought it for me, I'd drink it again, but I won't be buying more of it.
- 1 stars: Bleh, yuck, even if somebody bought some for me, I wouldn't drink this.
- 0 stars: I choked down just enough of my own beer/sampler to count, but it took force of will. God, who drinks that?
So, yeah. Drink beer. Have fun. Have a designated driver, if you're out.
