AboutThis is a community for sharing albums using Direct Download services (referred to as DDL services). Some of these services are:

Rules:Albums must be encoded at 320kbps or greater .mp3 format and must be complete albums. The best MP3s are created with a codec (tool) called LAME. LAME works for Windows, Mac & Linux. LAME and free software that uses LAME for encoding high quality MP3s can be downloaded at the following locations, these software packages are superior to native Winamp, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer and iTunes quality: FOR WINDOWS: -Download LAME codec: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/lame/lame-3.97b2.tar.gz?download -Download Exact Audio Copy (EAC): http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/ -Install both to 'Program Files' directory. Run EAC and point EAC to LAME.exe file. Configure settings to CBR 320kbps mp3 Joint Stereo. FOR MAC: -Download LAME codec plug-in for iTunes: http://blacktree.com/apps/iTunes-LAME/ -Install Lame codec plug-in for iTunes and configure itunes to rip at CBR 320kbps mp3 Joint Stereo using LAME.exe. Other software solutions may be availiable that better support the LAME codec on MAC computers. I encourage you to research software that will do the job, if you prefer not to use iTunes with LAME as described above. Ideally albums should be organized in folders should be named clearly in the following format: artist - album (release_year) Ideally tracks should be named clearly in the following format: artist - album - number - track Of course, this is only a suggestion in attempt to create a universal naming convention for all of us to use. Random naming makes for messy music collections. Albums should ideally include original cover art (bigger the better), playlist file & accurate ID3 tags. Original release years can usually be found by a search of google or discogs.com, album art can be scanned or found online by a google image search. Playlist files can be created with EAC, Winamp, iTunes or similar media player programs.
