About two weeks ago, I spent 8 days in California. Personally, I'm from Connecticut and I've never traveled terribly very far in my 23 years of life. But what was so special about this trip?
This! The oft-sung about hole in the wall bar, Frolic Room. Located on Hollywood Blvd directly next to the Pantages theater. It's such a great place, extremely small and intimate. It's about the width of a high school hallway!
Left to right, my roommate Kyle (![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) fenxi85182) who flew out with me, Alicia (thinkbluegreen), a friend who I met on Livejournal (in this very community no less) and lives out that way and finally, me. Joel, the bartender, was kind enough to take this picture for me.
So if you're ever out that way, I suggest ducking in for a drink, throwing "Frolic Room" on on the jukebox and have a good time. Joel is a pretty nice guy and as far as I can tell, is pretty good friends with Nick. For 10 bucks, you might as well take home a Frolic Room tshirt. I sure did.

The userinfo clearly states: "* Please no promoting without permission. Its not cool." I doubt any of the other mods would permit a pyramid scheme post and I certainly didn't. Please, let's keep such things away from the eyes of those who would rather not see them.
More on the subject of 311, I recently bailed on the Boston show. I live in southeastern Connecticut and the trek is about 2 hours for me. Forecast called for thunderstorms all afternoon and evening, and I was seated in an uncovered portion of the Tweeter Center. I really didn't want to drive for 2 hours, get drenched and then be forced to drive home for 2 hours soaked. If anyone attended, please don't tell me it didn't rain... :(

I'm thinking of a 311 song and it's your job to guess it by asking YES or NO questions pertaining to song lyrics!
EXAMPLE:
"Do needles ever love?"
"No, I am not thinking of Lightyears!"
"Is the fish who keeps on swimming the first to chill upstream?"
"Yes, I am thinking of My Stoney Baby!"
Now, since there are an insane amount of 311 songs, we're going to narrow this down as much as we can and keep it amoung studio albums only. That's Music through Don't Tread on Me, folks. It's still quite a damn big chunk, but we're gonna keep b-sides, covers, rarities and pre-Music stuff out of this. If the round is dragging on far too long, the person can give a hint in the form of the album's name at their discretion. Play passes to whoever correctly guesses the song with a yes or no song lyric first, who can then create a new entry for their turn.
So, let's get creative with those song lyrics!

311 / THANKSGIVING INCIDENT:
We did not intend to discuss this incident publicly, but since rumors are beginning to spread we'd like to set the record straight. On November 24th (Thanksgiving), 311 had the day off in Baltimore, Maryland. Chad Sexton, SA Martinez & P-Nut were relaxing in a hotel lounge with their wives and friends watching a basketball game on television. Scott Stapp entered the bar. He appeared intoxicated. He drank a shot at the bar and then threw his shot glass, smashing it on the bar. He was acting belligerent and got into an argument with patrons sitting at the bar. He then sat down next to SA and his wife. He made a disrespectful and crude remark to SA's wife. Chad and SA asked him to step away. He then sucker-punched Chad. Scott was looking for a fight - and that's what he got. A fight ensued. Soon the police arrived and everyone was restrained and questioned; and Scott was ultimately asked to leave the hotel.
