I'm probably the last one *grin*

I have a question about the thank you's Jared gives in the booklet of ABL. I assume some of them are meant to be funny, like dr.Suess. In it he also thanks L.Ron Hubbard. So, I was wondering if this was meant to be a joke or if he really is a member of Scientology? <strike>(I hope it's a joke)</strike> No disrespect to anyone who is, btw.<strike>
</strike>
Thanks to whomever answers this question.

Fic fodder: Jared's The Point and Purple Roofs

This isn't so much going to be a little 'facts sheet', as some stuff for you writers to play with. You know that Jared in his thank-words on the ABL albums (in the different versions) mentions a "Nelsons The Point", don't you? A couple of hypotheses have been formulated about this obscure reference. Personally, the theory I preferred was the one about Harry Nilsson's 'The Point' (little post on the boards if you're interested). People have also tried to connect a geographical location to the term. If you google it, you'll come out with some place, different places even in South-Africa, more specifically in the Cape Town region. And of course, that's a much liked theory ("Four continents/five countries" yeah!!). There's a Nelson's Guest House in Sea Point, there is Cape Nelson with a Cape Nelson's Guest House, there is a place called Cape Point, and perhaps some more.

In fact, Jared once revealed the exact location where he stayed when he was in South Africa on location for 'Lord of War': in an old radio interview that someone re-posted here not so long ago. It's a place called Camps Bay. Here's a map of the Cape Town region if you're starting to feel a little disoriented. Now we know he has been wandering around in the region, hiking, so this doesn't really dismiss any of the above theories.

Personally, I think Jared's Nelson is the other chap: admiral Horation Nelson and we're far from done questing for this 'Point' but that's not the reason why I'm posting here. It's one of the Cape Town locations that I thought might sparkle some interested out of the Mars fic writers in this fandom. I got this little pearl from someone else, whom I hereby thank (*waves*).

Here we go. Nelson's Guest House in Sea Point: their home page. You're asking me: what's the big deal? Wait! They have another website: right here. Isn't it marvelous? Just begging to be used as a background for a good Jared fic, LOW or 30STM wise if you ask (me *g*).

If you catch anything named wrong or something's double (I hope that's not the case), please let me know so I can edit.

Year 2005

*99x 05/18/05 [http://www.mediafire.com/?fytrk2mdmjc]
*K-Rock (December 05) [http://www.mediafire.com/?ingmqgzw9pe]
*MoJo (11/2005, with Jared) [http://www.mediafire.com/?mrrtztum1jc]

Year 2006

*IGN Music January 2006 [http://www.mediafire.com/?igtmegaq7rn]
*X96 Utah 03/06 [http://www.mediafire.com/?yuuymyxmdhy]
*30 Seconds to Mars on Edge CA (March 2006) [http://www.mediafire.com/?j3tymdpizxm]
*X97 (March 14 2006) [http://www.mediafire.com/?onmcuy2cf9a]
*X 103.9 (Jared and Tomo, April 2006) [http://www.mediafire.com/?tlbfj2nmhmc]
*Rockline 06/06/06 [http://www.mediafire.com/?xxfdibgma1m]
*The Edge Interview (06/29/06) [http://www.mediafire.com/?9mzcxqmnygs]
*Buzz 94.7 05/27/06 [http://www.mediafire.com/?h5cvcsxhdjl]
*X-Treme Las Vegas 04/21/06 [http://www.mediafire.com/?zeqzyxy9d1u]
*New Rock/Green Room 106.5 (The End) 05/17/06 [http://www.mediafire.com/?dxcemtyn01x]
*Edge 02/27/06 [http://www.mediafire.com/?odsyqfb4dub}
*Podcast 01/10/06 [http://www.mediafire.com/?j5coxtez0tm]
*z100 Pop 08/28/06 [http://www.mediafire.com/?ruzn00kajdg]
*102.1 The Edge (03/08/06) [http://www.mediafire.com/?q0vmtxjiz4m]
*WCCC (November 2006) [http://www.mediafire.com/?vbddmtmnxj7]

Year 2007

NMX 01/10/07 [http://www.mediafire.com/?snvcmzgjy5p]
Jared Interview 02/12/07 [http://www.mediafire.com/?bpmisysnysx]
K-Rock 07/16/07 [http://www.mediafire.com/?ay2ijgs0ry0]
N-Joy (April 2007) [http://www.mediafire.com/?aefvutazgel]
BBC Radio (Jared, 08/2007) [http://www.mediafire.com/?t790gexaxjy]

For the LoveLine interviews as well as some more interviews of those three years not listed here, please check out the post mentioned above and the comments to it.

Enjoy!
Some of the funniest moments in 30 Seconds to Mars' history have been through radio interviews. Behind the mic, they all seem free to say whatever they wish.

I would like to ask people to post the radio interviews that they have. I have seen a lot of interviews, but some were expired before I was able to find them.

In trade, I offer the Loveline series. And it seems to have been pulled from youTube. Hate that.

It's the MTV 3 Question interview where the guys are standing in front of a wall of license plates. Questions are (1) "Favorite music video", (2) "if you could reunite one band living or dead", and (3) "Sex, Drugs, or Rock 'n Roll"?
Hello. Someone recently asked me for a link to the radio interview that the boys were doing when the leaking of 'A Beautiful Lie' album was made known.

I stole the originals off of the boards somewhere, but I figured that some people would like to listen to them and don't brave the boards.

Both interviews are very entertaining and informative.

The first one is where Jared gets the phone call and goes off on the record company people (off the air, unfortunately) and does a mean Christopher Walken impression. Plus, the radio guy asks if Shannon ever thought about doing something like "The Bachelor."
First Interview
http://www.mediafire.com/?mqdvjtix2m3

The Second Interview, talks about the incident at the radio station and what came of the leak.
Second Interview
http://www.mediafire.com/?zetkmbf9jkw

I thought that this was a really good idea for a community, so I hope it is okay if I try to revive it.

Since some lovely people have already posted the recent/upcoming Rock Sound interview (#109), I have a question:

In the interview it was stated that Jared has never paid his own money to get their music videos done.

For some reason, my brain tries to tell me that I've heard the opposite somewhere else - that he has put a great deal of money into their projects.

So, do I just mistake something, or is the new interview innacurate?

No big speeches needed, I assume. All I ask is that you go and read over the rules, spread the word - if you want to be promoted in return (communities and websites) send me a message or leave a word in comments here.

Other than that... I don't think there's a lot else to say. Let's see how things start working from here. (I know I'm going to start the game by posting a question after this, since I have one :P)
