The 30 Myths Awards 2009 has come to an end for this year. Thanks to everyone who's participated and made it possible once again.

Below the cut, you'll find the list of this year's winners in the various categories that were up. Congratulations to all the winners! :) and also those who aren't on Rank 1-3...you're also winners, at least to me, personally :)

And the winners are... )

All stories, if so desired, can be reread. The voting entry along with the poll, from which every story was linked, can be checked on.

For every winner, we offer to make banners, just like last year, of course :) If you would like to have banner, please drop us a comment and we'll get back at you as soon as possible.

Additionally, for everyone who didn't make it into the Top 3 winners, we also offer to make banners with the rank you've achieved throughout the voting (4, 5, 6 etc) if anyone wants one. The ranks can be seen on the poll results in percentages.

We are looking forward to yet another year of wonderful works in this fandom. Good riddance and much inspiration to everyone!

28 January 2009 @ 12:27 pm

This is Del Rion, posting in behalf of the [info]30myths_awards staff.

Due to the hassle during the last couple of days, we have updated the voting list, and now we have an updated, cleaned up version up and running. We would ask everyone who voted to vote again (we apologize for the extra trouble this may cause you), and of coure, anyone who yet didn't have the chance to vote, feel free to do that now!

The voting period will end February 7th, as scheduled before.

Then, onto some basic info about voting, to refresh our memories:

The final nominees are now up for voting. Just like last year, we provided a link to each story so you can check them out before deciding whom you wanna give your votes. Depending on the number of nominees up for a category, you can give a maximum of votes between 1 and 5. Please check out what is mentioned in the category name.

Due to the - once again - huge number of entries for the Best OneShot category, we had to split it into two poll questions this year as well. You can vote for a maximum of 5 oneshots! That means, 5 altogether, not five on Part 1/2 and Part 2/2. Please make sure to not vote for more stories than the category allows, else all your votes on that category will be disqualified.

If there happens to be a wrong link, please let us know. In case something like this occurs, we'll edit the post accordingly and add a list of what might have been linked wrongly on top of the poll for your reference.

If there happens to be any typos in your username or the story title, we hope you can forgive that since we cannot edit the poll anymore.

Just like last year, we'd like to remind that this isn't supposed to be a popularity contest. Please feel free to vote for the story you personally deem to be the one you liked best. The poll results (meaning who voted for what, not the percentage) is not viewable to anyone! When you vote, please make sure you're logged in - anonymously placed votes will be ignored due to fairness (we don't want anyone to vote for themselves after all). And, of course: Do not vote for yourself!

Everyone who's been nominated for Best Beta is already a winner and will be announced with the winners of this year's awards after the voting period ends.

Unlike last year, we have all categories up in one poll this year, hence why the voting period is shorter. :) Just click whatever you wanna vote for and submit. You don't have to vote in every category if nothing there is your favorite.

It's up to every nominated author whether or not to unlock their stories for those 2 weeks of voting period - if they are locked - or not. Good luck to all the nominees!

Onto the polls )

Also, to make sure everyone remembers: voting for yourself is not allowed - and is much frowned upon. Below under the cut are some rules that the staff has agreed upon.

If you vote for yourself... )

Thank you for your patience while we have dealt with these matters!

It has been brought to our attention that, by now, several people accuse both of us of cheating on the voting results in favor for ourselves or our favorite authors in particular. Those people also have nothing better to do than addressing that matter publically or in their journals and not in a polite but rather rude way (name-calling, to name one thing that's occured).

Further, there is apparently also the accusation of last year's awards having been 'arranged' in favor of several authors.

We'd like to address this matter and we'll do it publically because we think it concerns all of you who have nominated and voted and we won't let those accusations pass. In fact, we're pretty angry about it, especially if also innocent people are dragged into this.

First off, since I am aware this has been bragged around, yes, [info]30myths_mod is [info]seasidh. I don't really see how that is a problem since [info]seasidh is my private journal and basically has nothing to do with all of this. The mod account was chosen to keep things apart, not to hide my identity and there's people who know that I am running the community. Finding an "unbiased" person to host such a community can be rather difficult since the person will always be somehow involved in a fandom, else they wouldn't go through all the work.

Here we go )

Thoughts are also welcome if you can see another solution.

Best Regards,
[info]seasidh and [info]del_rion

Again, the poll is closed. We'll let you know if voting will be possible again or not, depending on how this matter is solved.

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITES!

Duration of Voting Period: January 23rd - February 7th

The final nominees are now up for voting. Just like last year, we provided a link to each story so you can check them out before deciding whom you wanna give your votes. Depending on the number of nominees up for a category, you can give a maximum of votes between 1 and 5. Please check out what is mentioned in the category name.

Due to the - once again - huge number of entries for the Best OneShot category, we had to split it into two poll questions this year as well. You can vote for a maximum of 5 oneshots! That means, 5 alltogether, not five on Part A and Part B.

EDIT 01/24/09:
Since I was just informed by my co-moderator [info]del_rion:
Upon explicit wish by [info]lucilla_darkate, and since we can't edit the polls anymore, please consider any story written by [info]lucilla_darkate and [info]demon_deception as being out of this year's awards since they don't want to be participants anymore. Please save your votes for other stories instead. The stories in question will not be taken into account anymore.

Onto the poll )

EDIT

What happens if you vote for yourself?

First off - neither [info]del_rion nor [info]30myths_mod will be notifying you about this fraud. The rules clearly state that you are not allowed to vote for yourself (see above - it's even bolded!). If we catch anyone voting for themselves, we'll make screencaps for proof. Please be fair to yourself and others because even though no one can see the detailed poll results, we, the mods, can. And we are confident that you know your own name and won't "accidentally" check the box right next to it.

Alas, there's a catch to everything so here goes:

a) If we catch you voting for yourself once, whether for a fic under your usual username or a collaboration work with someone else, you'll get the yellow card. Meaning we'll simply let is pass and just not count that vote in the end and see it as mistake. Because long polls can be confusing, no doubt.

b) If we catch you voting for yourself twice, whether for a fic under your usual username or a collaboration work with someone else, the stories in question will be disqualified from the categories they were nominated in. Further, if you happen to be nominated as Best Author, you'll be disqualified there as well. We do not think such a behavior should be rewarded with a possible win as "Best Author".

c) Everything above twice is inacceptable - and certainly nothing accidental anymore. If we catch you voting for yourself more than twice, whether for a fic under your usual username or a collaboration work with someone else, all your nominations are completely null and void - including your collab works - and you're disqualfied from the awards entirely. Further, you'll receive an impersonal spanking from [info]del_rion for being an asshat.

Please take care what you are doing.
We'll notify you in private after the voting is over if it so happens that you were disqualified, to save from confusion.

22 January 2009 @ 07:50 pm
We'd like to once again remind all of you authors out there to check your inboxes and get back at us whether or not you accept the nominations. Tomorrow's the last day; after that, everyone who hasn't gotten back at us will be excluded from this year's awards!

Again, if you aren't sure whether or not we contacted you last week due to server/email/LJ notification problems - and we are sure some of you might be able to guess you were nominated :D - please do not hesitate to email us and ask, in case you encountered any problems recently. The email address can be found on the previous entry and on the UserInfo.

As of now, we still wait for a handful of authors to get back at us. Please keep in mind - because we cannot stress this enough in order to avoid any problems or conflicts - that if you don't contact us in return to accept the nominations, you will not participate and be erased from all categories you were nominated in.

Thank you for your attention.

16 January 2009 @ 11:32 pm
We have now contacted every author/artist that's made it into the final round, letting them know they were nominated.

Everyone who's received a message now has time until January 23rd the latest to reply and let us know whether or not they accept the nominations. If we don't hear back from someone, their nominated works will not go up for voting.

If you're not sure whether or not we have messaged you because you may have problems with LJ's private messages service or problems receiving LJ comment notifications, please feel free to email us under 30mythsmoderator @ googlemail. com.

Thanks to everyone who's gotten back at us already.

Nominations are now officially closed.

We will now count all the votes based on the 13 forms that have been handed in and then inform the nominees that'll make it into voting.

Hello everyone,

nominations are open for only six more days! The countdown is running and while we reminded on a few communities already, we'd also like to remind of it here once again. Nominations are open until next Thursday, January 16th 2009. After that, we'll contact every nominee that's made it into the final round. If you haven't handed in your nominations yet, please do it asap!

Hello everyone :)

We're opening our doors again in time to inform you about the rules and guidelines for the second year of the 30 Myths Awards. We will link back to this post throughout the entire procedure for your information. A few changes have been made on request and after carefully thinking about things.

Rules for Nominations

  • You can nominate a maximum of 5 works/authors/artists per category.

  • For each story, provide name of author and link to story/last chapter of the author’s series.

  • The story/series must have been written/finished/posted during the year 2008.

  • The story must be 30STM slash. At least one/the main pairing must be between the band members only, when the story is a crossover. The story must deal solely with the band members if it's gen fic. Pairings with original characters are not allowed. A story may contain a het pairing as long as it’s only mentioned/not the main pairing.

  • The story must be written in English. We also expect at least acceptable grammar and spelling!

  • Do not nominate yourself.

  • We can only regard nominations of authors whose accounts still exist. Authors with suspended journals will not be accepted as there is no way to contact them anymore.

  • Read the explanations on the categories carefully to avoid mistakes while nominating.

Just like last year, we’ll provide a pre-made nomination form that you can download and fill out for posting. It will have everything that we need for the nominations. We will regularly check the links and re-upload if they expire. You can already download it now and fill it out. Nominations start on December 15th 2008. Please do NOT post your filled-out nomination forms on this entry. We will set up a new entry for that!

Now we come to some very important things. Yes, we realize that this is quite a read but it's necessary to keep a few things in mind for the nominations:
A. Some important things about the story you might want to nominate and our requirements. )

Categories and needed qualifications
Now comes the most important part of nominating a story/work in general. Please read carefully as not to nominate something in the wrong category!
B. Explanation on Categories )

For those around for the first time, here a small guideline as to what happens next:
C. The Procedure of the Awards )

For any questions, please feel free to use our SHOUTBOX.
You may also want to check out the PIMP POST to find a few goodies that might make it on your list this year :)

Hello there,

before we shut up for the rest of the year, we'd like to give you the opportunity, once again, to pimp out stories over the year. Feel free to bookmark this post and leave a comment whenever you read or saw something really good and would like to give others the opportunity to read/see it as well.

For this post, you can pimp out the following:

- Writing journals or communities
- Graphic journals or communities
- A story in particular. In this case, please copy/paste the header of said story (so people know what to expect) and a link to the entry.

Concerning writing/graphic journals/communities, we'll edit this list as pimping comments come in. :-) Here's a list of what's been mentioned a couple times during last year's awards or was mentioned to us over the last couple days already. Enjoy reading, pimp out your fav our yourself and see you in December!

LEARN MORE | PIMP POST | WINNERS 2008

COPY/PASTE this code for pimping!

Hello everyone!

And here we are with the winners' announcement of the first 30 Myhts Awards.

In this post you'll find:

=> All of this year’s winners.

=> A list of all other nominees that have been nominated but didn’t make it into the final voting.

=> A list of disqualified works.

Thanks to everyone making this year’s awards possible and not (too) tragic ;-)

First off: The Winners! Congratulations to everyone who won this year. Everyone got their own banner (except for a couple categories at the end were we used similar ones). After debating for a while on how to make those, we have decided to make them fitting to the category/pairing of each story. We hope everyone likes theirs (if not, we guess you can complain? :P). If you grab yours to upload them somewhere, please use your own host. In case you get confused when some categories have more than one first place or second: They all had the same amount of votes and therefore, all share the rank.

Winners - picture heavy! )

-------------------

Number 2 - the list of nominated works that didn't make it into the final round. We figured some might be curious. To those that were nominated but didn't make it into the voting, congratulations as well. As you can see, people have thought of you nonetheless!

Other nominations )

-------------------

And last but not least - the list of disqualified works. In the brackets behind the title and author we'll give the reason on why it was disqualified.

Disqualified entries )

What will happen from now on?
First, we'll delete the previous entries about nominations, votings etc. The only entries remaining until the next round will be the winner announcement and the feedback post. As soon as the next round starts, we'll delete the feedback post as well. Please leave us any kind of feedback as offered in the F E E D B A C K P O S T that we can take into consideration. We will work on the FAQs and rules anyway but any input is really helpful.

Once again, congratulations and until next year?!
