Ok I was out today getting Austin a backpack and I found the coolest thing ever in a back corner just crying out for a stiff drink. I found a giant Sansevieria Trifasciata otherwise known as a "Mother-in-laws tongue" plant on sale today and by sale I mean it was a steal of a deal at 7 bucks. And it's a whopper huge one too and just perfect for this cobalt blue pot I got a few months back but was waiting till I found the right plant to put in it. Ok at this point your thinking this chic is nuts but if you ever go looking for large house plants they are like 20 to 30 bucks for the big ones and that's before you buy the pot or the dirt to stick it in. Aww she looks so pretty now in her new plant condo with room to stretch out in the dirt.
She looks like this
I think I'm gonna call her "Stella"

Gist of the video:
EW gave Breaking Dawn a "D" (which is too generous, I think). Twifans are pissed, and are starting a campaign to send chess pieces (specifically the white queen) to the reviewer. WHAT. THE. HELL. Is the person supposed to be all, "Oh snap! Chess pieces! I see the light! Breaking Dawn is a masterpiece of literature, the likes of which has never graced this planet before, nor ever again!"
I'm kind of curious to see what these fans do when the movie comes out...
(although all this crazy makes the HP fan in me giggle with glee. We seem pretty sane after this)
greg did the laundry!!!!

In other news, the children in my neighborhood need to shut the eff up. Seriously. Why the hell do we have to live right next to the playground? Oh, it was fun when I was a tot, but now it's just mostly annoying. One thing I've noticed is that the sound of a very small child screaming with pleasure sounds a little bit like the sound of a child who is being attacked and murdered to death. That's right, murdered to death. There have been more than a few occasions where I've been alarmed by some little tyke's shrieking only to peer out through my window to find a small group of kiddos playing with a parent/guardian sitting there watching them and no one was being murdered to death. Thankfully.

One of the other things I found in the Closet of Doom and No Spiders was a small stack of old issues of the Classical Review. Naturally, I put them aside so I could peruse them and skip down memory lane. High school writing is very amusing, especially when it's done by overachieving college prep students. Could they fit any more 75 cent vocab words into a paragraph? Oh, I think they could, I just thank Todd that they didn't. I was also reminded, in reading the numerous opinion pieces and letters to the editor, that certain teenagers who are so super-smart that it renders them socially awkward really hated Spirit Week and the only way they could tamp their feelings of insecurity and outsideryness were to pretend that they were intellectually above the "barbaric" and pointless activities surrounding Homecoming (and what the hell is wrong with Silly Hat Day, I ask!). I'm not saying that I've never pretended to be above something. I just never felt strongly enough about whatever it was to write a whole column in the school paper essentially stating that everyone who didn't agree was an idiot. *sigh* Sometimes I miss high school. Things that are a mere trifle now seemed like the end of the world and things that are dreadfully important now weren't even on the radar then. Good times.

Apropos of nothing, I've just gotten into watching the show Bones. I've watched an episode or two here and there (and I was usually on the computer at the time with the TV on in the background) and liked it enough, but it was usually on when I was at work, so I missed it most of the time. In addition I thought that I might not be able to separate David Boreanaz from Angel, but he's really a better actor than I gave him credit for because I barely even think of him as Angel when he's on screen. So, I got the first two discs from season one from Netflix and watched the first six episodes and oh my do I love it. I defy anyone to take their eyes off of Emily Deschanel. It's nearly impossible. The acting is good, the writing is good. The stories are interesting. It's dramatic and funny often in the same beat. Extra good times. I can't wait for the next two discs to get here.

like all living things, the two friends began to grow old and decrepit. they began to forget things and cough and sputter a lot, but they remained steadfast in their friendship.
one fateful day, browny suffered a mortal injury to his insides causing them to leak out and all over the place. he leaked so badly and so much that the floor around him began to rot and eventually could not sustain his weight. browny was now basically living like a vegetable.
porcelainy, though as old as browny, was a lot more healthy and could still go to work everyday and bring home a paycheck, but browny's sickness was a devastating blow to him. tears welled up inside of porcelainy, and though he'd never before in his life, he began to weep. nothing -not even two plumbers- could stop his tears, and sadly, the floor around porcelainy begain to slowly rot too.
browny and porcelainy will be friends forever, even neath the soft grass of the commode graveyard. that is all fine and good, but when i go home and need to take a shit, i have to walk 2 blocks to the CVS and that pisses me off.

Walking home to you
I'm talking through my wounds that I'm bleeding out for you
Talking through my wounds
Walking home to you
I listen when I can
I listen when I can
To this picture of you I carry in my hand
Lets me hear you say
You're never far away
And the dirt beneath my heels in the road
Obeys command to me and serves me as I go
And though it help to know you're never far away
I can't help wondering how you might feel about me today
Ada let me know
Ada let me know
Will you want me back or is it better if I go
Will you want me back
Ada let me know
That Carolina wind
That Carolina Wind
It blows in my eyes and makes me realize
The trouble that I'm in
That Carolina Wind
And the dirt beneath my heels in the road
Obeys command to me and serves me as I go
And though it help to know you're never far away
I can't help wondering how you might feel about me today
You'll see me in a dream
You'll see me in a dream
You'll see me in a dream across a mountain stream
And you will hear me say
You're never far away
Never far away
Never far away"

Her name is Sunday, and she's four months old. I got her from a shelter, and they're pretty sure she's a springer spaniel/english setter mix.
She is adorable and mischievous and sweet and has way too much energy and very bad manners but she's a puppy so it's ok and we're going to go to obedience school so that she comes when I call instead of running away!
She likes chasing butterflies and tormenting poor older sister Sophie (who keeps shooting me looks of extreme misery that seem to question why I brought this monster into our home) and she likes to sleep on my feet and I love her!
Right now my life is snatches stolen in moments when I've successfully tired out Sunday. But we are having fun going on lots (LOTS) of walks and playing fetch and chasing (and then horrifically catching and eating) crickets.
Also Sunday is fascinated by showers and jumps in there if the door is open (she scared the shit out of Eleanor (my roommate) this afternoon cause her eyes were closed and suddenly Sunday was there!) cause she likes to try and catch the water.
I love her to death!
( more pictures! )
Don't worry, I'll post more pictures soon! ;)

Since we're faced with dying Laura once more; from JACOB on Televisionwithoutypity, his review of Resurrection Ship pt. 2:
Next week: I don't give a f-ck what happens as long as Laura gets fixed. I mean it. They could fully meet magical beings from the future with googly eyes and eldritch potions, I wouldn't care, she and Lee could bond over having beat the Reaper and become weird kamikaze freaks with Starbuck and just do intentionally dangerous adrenaline-rush stuff all the time, she can find some kind of nanotech bracelet in the hallway that kills cancer as long as she wears it and then have a farce episode where Ellen Tigh gets drunk and runs off with it and they get it back at the last second, she can run into Gina in the hallway and get shot only in the cancer, she can turn out a Cylon, she can download into another body that looks like Laura, harvest Boomer's fetal stem cells, whatever it takes, I don't care, I don't care. She can just wake up and be like, "The cancer was only a dream!" and Bill can be taking a shower. F-ck story logic. I need Laura Roslin.
I really, really need to start this summer work. Why'd I take three AP courses my *senior year?!* What's the point?! It will cost $150 at the end of the year, it will be a lot of schoolwork (hell, it already is) and...blah blah blah, whine whine whine. Just do the fucking work, right?
I'm planning the courses I'm going to take throughout my college career assuming I'm able to rough it out. You're only allowed to take five a semester (six if you're an upperclassman). What kind of bullshit is that?
I really hate the summer. There's mosquitos and nothing to do. I've been watching Scrubs instead of doing some productive shit like working.

And how is everyone today?
New Namie Amuro Songs are awesome! Here! You should have them!
Sexy Girl
Do Me More
Both are sleek, arse shaking pop with terrible, terrible lyrics. I need someone to boggle at Sexy Girl with me. And Do Me More is charmingly gramatically inaccurate. Namie Amuro! Making me giggle like a schoolgirl and practicing my sexy dance since 2003!
Oh! And the video for Do Me More has an Alice in Wonderland theme, and awesome clothes, and 90s style dancing and hair! http://www.crunchyroll.com/media-40
Today I bought amazing Irregular Choice shoe boots from TKMaxx, and found thigh high fetish boots in a cheap shoe shop for very little and I will be going back and trying to find them in my size asap.
Yesterday I went to York with Sammi and we drank far too many cocktails, and then I fell in love with another Mulberry bag (this one). Drinking and luxury goods, you'd think I'd learn my lesson. It will be mine though. So gorgeous. Unless the factory shop gets this Roxanne in, in which case heaven and earth will not keep us apart. God, I am getting a frightful brandwhore in my old age.
(Oh my god there is a Roxanne wallet.)
(Someone call the fire brigade)
I spent the evening distracting myself from feeling bad by googling all the jokes from XKCD I didn't get (OMG the sudo get me a sandwich one, how did I not get that? Also, I feel bad that I don't like Firefly as much as he does) and listening to Jonathan Coulton songs, which makes me want to buy a Xbox 360 and hole Beth and I up playing Portal because that song is so much better when you've finished it. Gaming! Oh, and describing the works of China Mieville (and the relative hotness of Mieville) to my Grandma. She pacified me by giving me a dress that makes me feel like a painter. Success there, I feel.
In Burton Agnes Hall I saw, in the Chinese Room which is panelled with 400 year old Chinese panels, an almost exact facsmile of my tattoo design. I'm taking it as a sign and getting my tattoo done with the first paycheck of my adult life. Now if only that would arrive.
Should hear from Faith tomorrow. Eep.
