Lay Down the Law (HiruMamo, Eyeshield 21, #4 - Our Distance and That Person)
Title: Lay Down the Law
Author/Artist: magi_sammy
Pairing: Hiruma x Mamori
Fandom: Eyeshield 21
Theme: #4 - Our Distance and That Person
Disclaimer: Eyeshield 21 doesn't belong to me. I'm simply borrowing the characters for my sick and twisted pleasure.
Notes: This one is actually one of my favorites. It kind of stars Sena, in a way, which is good, because I hardly ever to get to write Sena, and he's one of my favorite characters. I'm glad that he gets his chance in the spot-light.
Completed: 14/30
Theme 4: Our Distance and That Person
Hiruma x Mamori
“Hi-Hiruma!”
“Sh-shut up, damn manager! It’s hard to get at you when you keep talking!”
“B-but Hiruma…aaahhh…”
Sena Kobayakawa was walking towards the football team’s club house one afternoon. As a second year in the first month of school, Sena was doing his best to keep the football team’s recruitment program strong, so he was on his way to the Club House to pick up the posters that Mamori, the team’s manager, had made.
“Hiruma, get your face over here!”
“Don’t order me around damn manager! Mrmph…”
Sena thought about anything else he should do in order to promote club recruitment. Maybe a demonstration? Monta would be happy to show off to the new first years, and the Huh-Huh brothers might be up to it as well. Komusubi too…and Kurita would be more then happy to promote the team, even if he couldn’t play in the fall season. Mamori was a given… Hiruma too, most likely.
“Do you brush your teeth obsessively, damn manager? Your mouth –“ A pause. “Smells like mint.”
“Just shut up and--”
Sena opened the clubhouse door to see both the team’s captain, Hiruma, and Sena’s childhood friend, Mamori, sitting at the table. Mamori was looking through a magazine to scout around at the new teams, and Hiruma was chewing his usual sugarless gum while typing away on his laptop.
“Mamori, where did you put those posters?” Sena asked her. “I want to start hanging them around school.”
“Oh,” Mamori pointed to a cabinet in the back. “They’re in there, Sena.”
The short running back walked back to the cabinet, opened it up, and took out the posters. “Thanks Mamori,” he smiled and walked out. “I’ll get Monta to help me hang them.”
“Okay, Sena,” Mamori smiled. “I packed lunch for two. Do you want some?”
“That’s all right,” Sena smiled. “I brought some today.”
“Oh, okay,” Mamori nodded. “Then bye, Sena.”
“Bye.” With that, he closed the door and began to walk.
Suddenly, he stopped and blinked, looking back at the clubhouse. He raised an eyebrow and opened his mouth slightly, “Hey…wh-why was Hiruma’s school shirt on backwards?”
The table.
That’s the rule.
When he’s here – the table apart.
…
Rules suck.
