Welcome to 30_drabbles! This is a friendly, low-pressure community of fanficcers...

Yeah, you've heard this spiel before, haven't you? We're another one of those 'let's write to themes! YAY!!11!' communities, and yet we're not. We're a little different.

Why 30_drabbles is different, and why you should join

1. We are *actually* low-pressure. I doubt there's a themes-for-writing community on LJ that's any lower pressure than we are. All you have to do here to complete your pairing is write 30 drabbles. That's it - we want 3000 words from you, in total. For any other 'themes' community you might be writing upwards of triple that, and still not be finished. You could sit down for less than two hours and complete a pairing here.

2. Our deadlines are easy to meet. All we require is one drabble a month. Anyone can do that, unless you happen to die or can't gain access to a computer for a whole month. A *monkey* could write a drabble a month.

3. Each pairing can be done more than once. Heck, I don't care if a pairing's done forty times.

4. We accept every pairing imaginable. Unlike some communities, which may not allow male/male pairings, female/female pairings or even het, we allow everything. Absolutely everything. You can have incest, peadophilia and beastiality if you like (even though your mod is completely squicked by those).

5. We allow *all* ratings and "goings-on". We take everything from G to NC-17 ratings. There's no need to censor yourself - you can be as hardcore as you like. Nobody is going to object to those sorts of things here. We are all open-minded.

6. You needn't claim a pairing. You can claim a character, or a 'relationship'. For example, you could pick the brothers Elric from Full Metal Alchemist and write about them having a platonic relationship. However, you cannot claim threesomes (because I'm having nightmares about what problems that would cause in the Prince Of Tennis category in particular) or any more than two characters at once.

7. There's no need to feel frightened or intimidated to join. We're happy to have all skill levels, from the seasoned professional to the one who started this whole fanfiction thing last week.

8. Unlike 30_kisses, 30_romances, 30_hugs or 30_smiles, for example, there is no need to include any specific element or object. All you have to do is interpret the theme as you see fit.

9. And a bunch of other reasons that didn't really justify each having their own category. We're perfect if: ~ you'd like to do a theme challenge but don't have lots of time,
~ are just plain lazy and are daunted at the idea of tackling

2. You need not follow the themes in order.

3. You must post at least a drabble a month.

4. You may NOT combine more than one theme into a drabble.

5. You must claim either: ONE ROMANTIC COUPLE. THE MEMBERS OF THIS COUPLE MAY BOTH BE OF ANY AGE, GENDER OR, ERM, SPECIES. WE ACCEPT HET, FEMALE/FEMALE, MALE/MALE AND INCEST.

OR

ONE OTHER RELATIONSHIP, SUCH AS SIBLINGS OR FRIENDS. THESE RELATIONSHIPS MAY NOT HAVE MORE THAN TWO PARTICIPANTS.

OR
ONE SINGLE CHARACTER.

YOU MAY *NOT* CLAIM MORE THAN TWO PEOPLE AT ONCE. YOU MAY NOT CLAIM CHARACTERS FROM MORE THAN ONE FANDOM AT ONCE - I.E. *NO CROSSOVERS*!!

When requesting characters, PLEASE list their names in THIS ORDER: FIRST NAME/GIVEN NAME/CHRISTIAN NAME FIRST AND *THEN* LAST NAME/SURNAME/FAMILY NAME. It's just I know there can be a tendency to do it the other way around in the anime/manga fandoms.

6. We only allow FANDOMS. NO ORIGINAL WORK, and NO REAL PEOPLE. We allow movies, books, videogames, anime, manga and anything else you can think of, provided it could be classed as a fandom. We also do not allow people to create original characters within a fandom and then claim them, for example you cannot use your original character, the Hogwarts student Melissa Greenwood, and do your thirty themes in her claiming she is from the Harry Potter fandom.

7. No collaborations allowed. People may only work by themselves to complete their claims.

8. *****Request your couple/relationship/character at this post*****. Make sure your subject line reads 'request'. Be certain to include the character(s) full name and the full name of the fandom they are from. Always make each request separately - do NOT reply to someone else's comment in order to request your own. Always post it as a separate reply to the post, a separate comment to the post.

9. Themes are absolutely and completely open to interpretation. You can be as literal or as abstract as you like with them. NOBODY is going to tell you that you have completely interpreted the theme wrong (although there is admittedly more leeway with some themes than others.)

10. Please post ALL your drabbles behind an LJ-cut. NO EXCEPTIONS.

11. Please follow this format when posting:

Rating: (Also include appropriate warnings if the drabble so requires, such as bondage or non-con or kink)

And then the cut, or fake cut. ALL DRABBLES **MUST** GO BEHIND A CUT, NO MATTER THE RATING!

12. Drabbles can be interlinked, or not interlinked. They can tell a story all together, if you so wish.

13. Flaming is expressly forbidden, and you *will* be kicked out if you do it. No excuses. You want to critique someone, then critique them. Belittling or insulting someone without cause will not be tolerated. All comments are to be polite and constructive. By all means offer help and advice and critique, but everyone here should be able to tell the difference between that and being out-and-out mean.

Please do your utmost to keep these rules. We understand that sometimes rules can be broken by accident, so we will always give a warning before taking more decisive action, except in the case of nasty falming, where the perpetrator *will* be asked to leave.

Regarding the Memories

After you post a drabble, please leave a week for it to show up in the memories section. If after a week it is still not there, **come kick us at this post**

Regarding Theme Set Completers

Finished? Well done you! **Come crow about it at this post.** Leave a commment listing the FULL NAME of your character(s) and their fandom's full name. Also, if possible, leave the date you started the challenge and the date you completed it. You will be inducted into our ***Hall of Fame***

Regarding the dropping of character(s)

Unable or lacking motivation to finish? **Come relinquish your claim at this post**. Give your comment the subject title 'dropping' and be sure to list the full name of the character(s) and the full name of their fandom.

Regarding Questions

Something still not clear? **COME ASK A QUESTION AT this post** (We do not yet have an FAQ, so don't bother looking for one). Write it in a comment, labelled with the subject line 'I have a queston!' (this is important). Please do no be afraid to ask a question, no matter how stupid you may think it is - it's much better to ask the question than to go ahead uncertainly and make a complete balls of things. You are honestly not bothering us. We'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.
