Apparently I think I made work mad at me. My friend text messaged me and apparently I was suppose to work today. Oops...My bad...I actually do feel quite bad...I gotta call tomorrow and tell them I forgot...I'm not looking forward to that...Seriously I'm not...I got Sunday off and Monday off...
I dyed my hair today...It's black baby and when I'm in the sun it looks purple...I took a pic with my phone and I'll add it tomorrow...I'm happy my moodtheme is up though..YAY!!!

So, uh... I went to the Adventues in Anime panel/workshop here at Comic Con. And they were taking voulenteers for a mini dubbing session. Well, how could any girl resist?
So I get up there and they give me my two lines: "Nice to meet ya." and "Um... Why is there a fuzzy little critter hiding in my clevage?"
DO THEY KNOW ME OR WHAT?!?!?!
At the end I had to go up again and they polled the audience for who the thought was best... And I won! OMG. |

I just saw one of the Quizno's commercials for their $5 subs, the one where the guy eats his change. Given I haven't been able to take my Prilosec, seeing that kind of made me sick. Just the thought of tasting coins is bleh!
Speaking of commercials and their idiocy at times, the commercial for Wendy's salads (with the warm chicken over the salad) is a strange one. When "Wendy" disappears into the vegetation, her eyes look demonic almost. And for stupidity, the McDonald's commercial for the frappes . . . the one with the two chicks . . . it's stupid. The two women in it are so damned superficial . . . It's bad, imo.

Going to visit with my Asian side of the family.
I hate hearing my dad these days because he sounds so fatigued. :/ I missed one call from him (was in the movie theaters) and in his voice mail he sounded like he was flailing and worried. Hearing him sound like this jabs me because it tells how much he misses me and how he can't take it.
It clashes with my childhood memories of him. He was always laughing and made stupid jokes- like me presently. I hope he doesn't sound distressed in person.
I wanted Rachel to go but I guess she doesn't want to feel like the only white chick there so she's staying at home.
I'm worried about my hair because it screams: LESBIAN more than ever. I'll stick to my trusty hats. I wish I had a long black wig. |

I watched the Dark Knight last night with Rachel and tyy_tad. Great movie regarding graphics, theme, human psychology, and character growth. Two things I didn't like was how horrible Two Face looked. I can blame my childhood memories of watching the animated series for expecting a "tamer" appearance. I couldn't bear to look at him in the movie and it disgusted and made me so emotionally involved that near the end of the movie I almost walked out. I didn't want a panic attack.
It was more than just Two Face's other face that made me feel that way. The kids being kidnapped kind of pressed my maternal instinct.
I also felt at points that it was too epic.
But! I suppose if a movie can make me feel this way that is good too.

Rachel bought me two new bumper stickers for my car. She made me remove my "gay propaganda" ones because she said her dad was noticing him.
She bought me bumper stickers that say: "I'm not gay" and "I'm not straight". I also have a blank sticker that says "I love ___"
Rachel said she wants me to put her name there and stick it on my laptop. But, I can see that being a problem in later points. I think I'm just going to put: "I love sheep". Oh yes, I am so cryptic. (Rachel's Fursona is a Sheep)

So my birthday yesterday was pretty cool. As always as soon as I woke up my brothers rushed me to open the presents (I always feel they're more excited then me- but believe me I get excited too!) and of course I dodged them with a run for the towels screaming "Shower first!" *laughs*
Hm gifts were awesome! I got a lot of gift cards- which is a gift I always love. My parents gave me a $150 gas card (which is loved so much since I have no job and decided to not get one while in school I'll explain later) and then they surprised me with two awesome shirts (the smell of the store was on them so I think they were from Big Lots (it smells like that store- don't ask I can pick up smells like that)) they are so cute! And then they gave me this box and when I opened it...wow there was this Japanese doll there that my step-mom said was from a person from where she worked. It was made and bought in Japan about 40 years ago. They woman gave it to her and she gave it to me. WOW!
And then lets see from my brothers I got....Hmm Jimmy got me a Wal-Mart gift card for like $10 and X/1999 vol 1 manga *dances* Larry gave me a Bookmans gift card and X/1999 vol 2 *dances even more* and then Vinny got me a Visa gift card for $25 and a SaiYuki DVD *dances* (but I don't have the nerve to tell him that I already have it. He bought it from Bookmans and I know it is past the week deadline to return it so I don't know for sure).
And then I got to lie around the house *and enjoy my gifts* for the day. My dad felt horrible that we didn't do anything but I really didn't mind. I mean dad is currently injured (either cracked or bruised ribs) so moving for him is painful and I didn't want to go bowling or minature golfing with him like that- and it just seemed rude to say to go there and have him do nothing. So I just sat in the living room and relaxed.
And then for dinner we went out to Casa Molina's for mexican food. YUMMY!
But yeah this will be my last b-day at home! *sniffs* And I think everyone was kinda down about that cuz they know when I become a nurse I'll be moving out. Though I will stay in contact *I have reassured them of this A LOT!* But I think that was why my dad was really sad about not doin stuff yesterday. But hey I had two mangas and a DVD to watch! *nods head*
OH and before I forget! sephiraprincess I have a question for you!! great way to know if you're reading this post or not... Did you see me with my MP3 player? I swear I can't find it still and I'm really starting to freak now. I mean I can't loose that! I've looked several times and everyone tells me I'll find it. But I'm wondering if I dropped it somewhere, unless you saw it at home.
Oh and I finally decided that I will most likely NOT be getting a job this semster. I have people who will loan me money as I need it, telling me that I can pay it back when I'm a nurse if I feel the need to (one of the reasons I got the gas card). I already know I will be repaying them back, I'll keep a notebook of the money and why and just give it back when I get the money.
But the reason why I'm shaky to get a job is that this semster is only 10 weeks long, and it's the same full amount we usually get over longer periods. And then after that is my preceptorship- where I'll start doing the actual nursing hours (12 hours) for a little while. And I still have to study for the NCLEX while doing school. So after a lot of thought- and almost crying over the thought of having to barrow money from others- I decided that not working would be the best.
Of course I still may try to get odd jobs as I can to pay for some of the stuff...But most likely no job till I'm a nurse now.
Ahh thunder above us, I hope it rains....Eh better turn off the computer for now. Tomorrow I'll post pictures and memes! YAY for fun posts....Night night everyone! |

| Comic Con Live Update 4.0! |

MST:3K was full. Sob. So more update.
Joss Whedon was after the Stargate: Atlantis panel, so I sat in. I'm not a fan, but I know some of you are, so I snagged a few pics for you between fic writing.
( And Jewel's so purty. We miss Firefly, yes we do! )
Then Joss Whedon came out and talked about Doctor Horrible, which I will admit I have never seen -- and am currently downloading. He also said that he either kills or outs characters, so either way it's fun.
( There was much cussing in this panel. Neal Patrick Harris said 'Fuck' three times, and Joss said it once. )
After that there was a live reading of an American Dad episode. They read the first act aloud, then showed roughs of the second and the full animation for the third.
( Fucking. Hysterical! )
While I was at panel, I get a text from totally4ryo that GDL threw a pog at her (you know, the little circles of cardboard?) I found her and lady_of_d_lake freakin' CAMPED OUT IN FRONT OF THE BOOTH. *sigh* I should have just turned a hose on them. When I mentioned it to lady_of_d_lake, she ran up to GDL and demanded to know if he'd done it.
He said he was getting bored. I can't really blame the man.
lady_of_d_lake also bought me a Ten figurine, so sweetheart, expect a LOT OF THANK YOU FIC (she's not a gwen fan, so I'll probably end up doing anti-gwen for her).
Now just waiting for totally4ryo to finish with her panel, then... I dunno. Crackfic? |

| Fanfics and Real Life |

I'm sorry to do this to everyone who is anxiously awaiting updates to their favourite fanfic pieces, but I'm suspending all fanfic writing until sometime after the first of the year. The reason behind this is very simple.
I am a part-time worker at Wendy's. That is my only source of income, and it's been my only source of income since March. Finding a second job has not been easy. The job pickings are very, very slim, and my mom's suggesting I go back into working with old people (Hospice, assisted living homes), which I'm refusing to do at this moment. (If I continue in healthcare, I'm heading for a hospital, not a place filled with elderly people. Two nursing homes firing me is lesson enough. Yes, they are jobs, but I view the care of the elderly as having to be MORE than just a job, and it's something I can't give. It's a sad truth, but if it isn't something I can be enthusiastic about, I can't do it. To take a job working with old people because it's a job and gives you an income is just flat out shitty. I don't care who you are, and I won't go down that route again. No matter what.) I'm still looking for something, namely at the local hospital and maybe another restaurant, but I need to re-prioritize what's important when it comes to writing. My original material needs to come first and be focused on before all others. The books I'm working on are the only hopes that have been keeping me going, and it's only fair that they get more of my attention than fanfics.
If you were looking forward to what I had intended on updating this month, I do apologize for not being able to update or post. It's disappointing for me as well, but it will be even more disappointing if I can't get myself published within the next year. I will make the effort to update everything next year, though, and hopefully complete a few pieces as well.
So . . . as of today, all fanfics are on hold until I can get a few original pieces completed and submitted. Thanks.

| Comic Con Live Update 3.0! |

Covering last night and most of today! As always, cuts are dial-up eating photos.
Last night, after I posted, I went to see Adventures in Anime, with Quinton Flynn and Jeff Nimoy. They were major cut-ups and basically just did impressions for an hour -- lot of Christopher Walken and Paul McCartney, lots of Beatles. *laughs* There was one part that was hysterical (and that I want to make an icon out of) where they were talking about their "Yaoi Song" (can't remember the title right now). Apparently, they were doing a con and they asked a guard where all the girls (legal, over 18) were, and the guard took them to the Yaoi Room and proceeded to announce that Jeff Nimoy and Quinton Flynn were in the Yaoi Room. Which circulated rumors that they were gay, so they wrote a song about yaoi. They were about to start singing it when the preview in the next room BOOMED out and interrupts them, to which JN goes "Oh God, we've angered the God of Yaoi! Please don't hurt us, God of Yaoi!"

So. Today we get up and I'm dragged BACK TO THE BOOTH WITH JB and GDL. And while I don't mind staring at pretty boys all day, it gets a little creepy after a bit, sorta stalkerish. Besides, I'm not really... built for being a groupie. I'm not the type of girl that someone looks at and goes "Ooh, gotta get me some of that."
Anyway. We -- me and totally4ryo -- ran into lady_of_d_lake, who is officially the Torchwood TeaGirl, since she helped the lady at the booth bring them coffee this morning (from Starbucks! BLASPHEMY!)
And when we got back... they were wearing green fairy wings.

Pinky made me this statue out of Styrofoam cups. He claims it will help help me bake but I haven't figured out what it does exactly. He also made me Shrimp Alfredo on the house.
There were several wishes towards me during this week, from various sources. I was pleasantly surprised. ^^ |
