NEW RULES for NEW PLAYERS

Hi to anyone joining this group. Welcome to the Mercenaries' Guild. This is a hard core Mechwarrior campaign. We started off in 3051, but as time has marched on we start off new players in the current time frame. So to get things rolling let me start off the rules again.
Clarification to how this works:

1) I am GMing the campaign [info]kuttsinister7. It is for Players who get tired of taking turns Gming, so I am being the GM.
2) I generate the contracts each "Month" in reality a week or two for each posting. I generate contracts based on the timeline current (3051 A few months before the invasion of Luthien). The players play as they see fit.
3) If your players don't want to roll up enemy forces or opposition, please post to the board and I will post the opposition forces.
4) If you want to do Batreps (Battle Reports) please start your own thread.

Rules:
1) Your entire unit doesn't have to do a job. (At your own risk)

If you have a regiment and you send one battalion to contract it is entirely up to you.

2) Build a legitimate unit you will enjoy playing. (Seriously, no one wants 12 Daishi's running around in 3051)

There are 2 Methods to building a unit. You can use the Mercenaries Revised Book or you can use Mercs Supplemental 1 Alternative unit construction rules. 3055 is too old and doesn't do BV correctly.

3) Post results accurately to reflect any changes to your merc rating, unit size, etc...

IE if your unit loses a fight, or gets a lance blown away, please post your battle reports. Again please start your own thread.

4) Have fun!

That's an order!

5) Based on wins and so one will make slight changes to the history books as it unfolds.
6) If you need me to roll enemy forces, please post request! If need to recruit replacement personel, I roll that up to!
7) Have fun with me doing most of the work!

Clarifications to Rules (Q&A)

1) First build your unit. Post your unit's dragoon's rating (If you want post your roster as well).
Remember START A THREAD for your unit when you build it.

2) Use the listed books for building your units as it will make it easier and uniform so everyone starts on a level playing field.

3)  Fulfiling your contracts. Not a problem. What you do is play at your leisure. If you are still on a contract (IE I haven't played all of my games) then you simply miss a contract posting. That's it. When you finish playing you keep track of your own material / personnel losses and gains. Then you tell me if you finished your contract successfully or you get hosed. then I roll up more contracts. You can also elect to "Not work a month" and your unit just pays its salaries and such as they can.

4)  But the other person doesn't know what enemy forces to play with. Post a message and I will roll up enemy forces for you to fight against based on your mission. Or you can use the BMR tables for scenarios.

5)  I have more than one combat available unit (IE I have 3 lances of mechs) can I split them onto 3 different contracts? Yes you can. It is up to you. I will post expected force opposition and the basic needs of finishing a mission. The rest is up to you.

6) Salvage and those sticky issues....contracts can be negotiated and they will be in merc revised rules...If you lose a few pilots during a mission and need to hire new ones post an entry with "Warriors wanted for (unit name here)" and I will roll up the warriors for hire (NPCS) and let you weed through them.

7) But I don't have the unit building rules and where can I get a copy...post and I will mail them to you by snail mail.

8) What ways of playing are acceptible? Any up to and including MEGAMEK...Have fun.

9) Every unit will be subject to the Random Table for contracts....just look at the thread.

10) Anything else email me or post a question.

Strike to make a fortune, roll some dice, and survive the ever changing Battletech Universe!
