Hello there,
I hadn't given 2012 all that much thought. It's really not something I ever paid attention to, or realized that people took seriously. But I'm a lucid dreamer who believes he is "communicating with beings from other dimensions" (or something of the sort). So I spend a lot of time looking over alternative literature, and 2012 has seemed to be catching increasingly more attention these days.
One thing that I'm always doing when I become aware that I'm dreaming is I ask questions. ("Who are you? Who you do think I am? What is this place, and how can I be here while I'm asleep? Have you heard of Earth?" etc. etc.) Frequently as soon as I start looking for specifics, I am attacked. In one particular dream, an alien-looking creature identified as "Chimera" tried to explain the attacks that had taken away my dream-body and I was left reading only text on a black background:
"Chimera": "We're now communicating using a font debugging test backdoor. I'll tell you what I can, but you'd better ask what you want quickly."
me: "Why am I being attacked?!"
"Chimera": "Earth is a place that is scheduled for self-destruction in 4-years. Some people haven't accepted that yet as an inevitable truth, so they are still trying to keep it completely isolated. 26.6 points [gibberish]"

The thing I only noticed this week when I happened across this entry was the date... January 20th, 2007. 4 years later would be around 2011, which does come close. Despite having a large number of unusual dreams and communications, I think this is the only one that seems to intersect with the 2012 theory. But still, rather interesting to see this.

I defined a "charming date" as a date made of only 3 digits (or less).
Like:
1.1.2000
1.2.2000
2.2.2000 (two digits)
and many more in 2000

Nothing like this 2000-2012 charm since ever we can really remember, and nothing like we can predict in any sense of future, and with nothing even coming close, until 2100-2102.
For all reasons mentioned, our time is the perfect "time-dates-obsession-period".

With the US economy possibly heading down the drain, I wonder how this might play into the whole 2012 drama?
The days of America playing the 'Super Power' seem to be coming to an end, and this release of power must be having some sort of impact on the collective unconscious of humanity. And why couldn't there also arise a positive impact out of the fear and struggles of a financial collapse and a shift in the world power structure? The notion of there existing a world without any one single controlling power does not seem so bad to me considering our (collective) history of territorial strife.
There is of course that ever-present possibility that another country would emerge as the so called 'Super Power', but if the capitalist system in the US came to experience some degree of collapse, this would likely expand to affect stock markets of other countries. I'm no Economist here but it seems like common sense that most (if not all) of the capitalist systems across the globe could be impacted if such an extreme event occurs. The possibility of this happening seems to be increasing according to the media and our so called 'leaders', but I've always found it safe to assume that you can only gain partial truths from any one information source, that deeper truths lie within the blending of viewpoints.
Personally, I would love to see a future in which spiritual awakenings begin to occur at the individual level in myriad subjective ways, and then the new interactions with these individuals starts to effect increasing numbers of people around them, then radiates outward into a grand unfolding of consciousness on a global scale.

Hi yall,
I'm a new member so please forgive me if this topic has already been covered/old news etc...
I just came across something which to me just fits so neatly into the puzzle concerning prophecies/predictions/gut feelings about what the next few years have in store for us.
Basically in 1139 St Malachy had a vision where a list of all the Popes "till the end of time" went through his head. The list numbered 112 Popes, each of them identified by a short phrase which made allusion to some defining characteristic. From what I can see, they're chillingly accurate.
And we're on to Pope 111 on the list. That's right, after this guy comes "Peter the Roman" who tends the flock in the last days before the "Judge" comes... YIKES!

My two cents worth: I've done a fair bit of research (Google) and it's pretty clear that besides having a branch (no pun intended) called "the Olivetans" Benedictines are historically associated with planting and cultivating Olive orchards. Eerie.
I definitely believe something is coming in the next few years. Just exactly what depends on who you listen to. Myself, I think it's going to be a huge shitstorm as well as a huge positive transformation of some kind. Time will tell eh?

| All the Truth about 2012 |

We all heard about 2012.
So many Explanations and Stories.
I've heard stories about aliens, about astrology, about changing the rhythm of time, Heaven on Earth, energies, other dimensions, bad-stuff-happening, galactic-astrological-synchronizations, changes in calenders, parties, and so many contradicting, not-really-scientific, not-always-rational data.
I seek to explain the phenomenon, without stubborn rhetoric, without any vague concepts, and without any energy / aliens / dimensional / other-unproven-data (or at least considered unproven).
Having said that, I'll try to explain the 2012 phenomenon, or the phenomenon of 2012 obsession.
1.
My first argument:
Numbers effect people.
People are charmed, for example, by certain numbers, and are afraid, from other numbers, for a variety of reasons.
I don't claim everyone is charmed and afraid by numbers, but enough people do, so in the global-scale, number do effect people, not necessarily in the same manner.
(The number X can charm one person, deter another, and not effect another two people, in a group of 4, for example).
I find it easy to be charmed by
12.21.2012
or
13.0.0.0.0
And I am charmed by the fact they are both the same day.
But I would like to focus more on dates and numbers that make people fear.
Some dates frighten some of us:
9.11.2001
or
9.1.1939
Some numbers that might frighten a Christian:
666
13
Or Jews:
6,000,000
2.
My second argument:
The 9 - 11 combination is problematic enough in order to become a date of destruction.
(Sounds strange, but read it through).
I don't ask here to explain this, just to show this, but I'll try to give an explanation nonetheless.
One possible explanation, is the common characteristic of 9 and 11.
They are both very close to 10, and this is what is common, and so their combination emphasizes this.
10 is a very special number for the human psyche, and usually symbolizes wholeness and completeness and perfection, not for a mystical, or a numerological, or a really-stupid reason, but because we have 10 fingers, and they are the base of our counting system, and 10 symbolizes the completeness of the counting, the 10 fingers, and the 10 digits.
Those of us who look for grades will see a perfection in 10, since it is the perfect grade.
Those of us who look for completeness in sexuality, and in the merging of the opposites, will also see in 10 completeness, as 1 is the male organ, 0 is the female organ, and 10 is their combination in one complete whole perfect unity.
Those of us with religious upbringing can see 10 in the 10 commandments and other important symbols.
Symbolic connections between 9 and 11, are exactly what moves away from that wholeness, and emphasizes the distinction from wholeness.
You might think I'm only talking about the WTC 9/11 case, but you'll understand soon.

One of the things 2012 theorists talk about, is the subject of time, and the change of time, and the change of the perception of time.
They all fail to understand that what will really happen, is that as far as dates go, time will effect us differently.
This is the expected change in our "connection with time".
Time will be much less frightening and much less dangerous.
One last thing.
If somehow I gave you a reason to think the coming 2009 and 2011 will be horrible, this is not necessarily what I think. 1909 and 1911 were not so nice as years, but certainly not the worst of the 20th century. And even so, by 2012 it will be behind us.
I'd be more than happy to get interesting remarks, as long as they are to the point, about my theory.
