A few years back I realized that the entertaiment industry no longer caters to me.
I just can't get into Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Dawsons Creek, or even MTV
(didn't they used to play music videos?). Fashion, music, and movies have all
changed so much since the good old days. Instead of just feeling down about my age
I decided to embrace it. I figured I would start a community here for us, "twenty
somethings", to kick back and reminisce about all the great things we knew and loved
as children.
Now as a younger, "twenty something", I tried to fill the interests as best I could
(mostly 80's stuff). As we get some older "twenty somethings" I'll be able to add more
on.
So if you like starting your sentences with, "When I was a kid..." or "Back in the early
eighties..." this is the place for you. So let's jog our memories. Let's tell old stories.
Let's talk about lite brite, and garbage pail kids. Who remembers Commander Mark?

From what you can see above, the original purpose of this community was to reminisce about the 80's and the 90's. However, after reading through a ton of entries in the archive, the moderators of this community realized that there also needs to be an emphasis on issues that face the 20 somethings of today, such as going to college, graduating from college, dealing with the quarterlife crisis, getting used to the real world, moving away from home or still living at home, relationships, finances, health, job searches, working, raising kids, getting married, and the like. So, in essence, THIS COMMUNITY IS NOT JUST FOR REMINISCING.
