F.A.Q.
1. Does every theme I do have to have a blanket in it?
Of course it does. This is 20_BLANKETS, after all. How you use the blanket is up to you. It can be the central point of the fic, or it can simply be a mention, but there must be a blanket somewhere in your work.
2. Can I write 2 or more themes into the same work?
No, we ask that you do 1 piece of work for each theme. If you want to combine themes that's fine, but you'll still need to do 20 different pieces of work to complete your claim. The only "exception" to this would be if you wish to do a longer, multipart fic.
3. Does my pairing have to be romantic in nature?
Technically, no. The idea is for it to be that sort of pairing, but you can certainly write it in a one-sided manner, or whatever. It's perfectly fine to have character A pining over character B for awhile, or to just explore a friendship rather than a romantic relationship.
4. Does my work have to center around those two characters only? Or can I have a third character be the focus?
That's a little tricky. This is designed to be a pairing community, so the focus needs to be primarily on the pairing you chose though it's fine to write from a 3rd character's viewpoint.
5. Can I do both artwork and fanfiction for my claim? What about icons/banners?
Fanart and fanfiction are both fine and you can mix them as you choose. Icons and banners do not count.
6. Is incest/yuri/yaoi/non-con/mpreg/etc alright?
Sure, you can do whatever sort of pairing you want. This comm is friendly to all. We just ask that you obey the rules and put any questionable material behind an LJ-cut.
7. Can I write collaborately with someone on my claim?
Yes, but both names must appear on each post that you make. No splitting the claim up between yourselves and each of you do 10.
8. I got on the waitlist for a claim, and I noticed that the person who claimed it hasn't written for it in a long time. Can I take over their claim?
If you come across this situation, the first thing you should do is send a post to the moderators to let us know of the situation. After that, post to the owner of the claim and explain the situation to them. If they do not respond to you within a week, email a moderator with the link to the post you made requesting their status. If everything is in order, there shouldn't be a problem.
9. How often do you update the claims list/update feed?
Once a week, ideally. If something comes up, you'll see a notice.
10. Do you allow _____________?
OCs, AU-fics, crossovers, songfics, drabbles, poetry, fanart, fanfiction, OCs paired with fandom characters, all are allowed. No icons or banners.
11. I don't know how to do html, make an LJ-cut, etc.
Go to the Livejournal FAQ page and they tell you all sorts of interesting things like that.
12.What if I can't make my deadline?
Request an extension. You can request one more than once, but not more than once in a row. That means if you need an extention for the January deadline, then you can't request one again in March, but you can request one in May.
13.Can I affiliate/advertise/pimp my comm?
If you email me a request and I ok it, I will add your comm/pimpage/etc. to the affiliates post. Random spamming and junk posts will be deleted.
14. You didn't archive my post/I didn't want my fic archived!
Please wait at least 2 WEEKS before complaining about a missing memory, it's probably just a matter of me being behind. All fics/art are archived, if you have personal objections to this please contact the moderator prior to posting so special arrangements can be made.
15. Do I have to do all the themes in a particular order?
No, you don't.
16. How can I get in contact with you? I hate you/love you/want to kill you/want to have your babies/have a question that wasn't answered/etc.
Post a comment on the troubleshooting post and I'll get back to you.
17. Who did your layout/graphics?
I did.
