Episode Transcripts - interested in doing one?
Last year, we started asking for people to help out with transcriptions of episodes and so far, things have been coming along nicely. But we still have some to finish up.
There is a list of episodes below the cut that still need to be transcribed. Each person gets a month to do a transcription. Please don't reply if you don't think you'll be able to finish the transcript in a month's time. It's hard work, but fun. I would advise that you read the information under the cut before committing yourself. If the episode is not listed below, that means that it's already been transcribed. If an episode is crossed out with a name next to it (ex. [2x15 The Bodies in the Book [
tracielyn 12/11/07] then it's already been taken but all the other episodes listed are up for grabs - first come first serve. I would really like to have all these finished by the time Bones comes back at the end of April.
Here are the sources I use when transcribing (I have them all open, in different tabs, in my browser to make it easier to switch between them):
Fox.com - For locations of where scenes are set, Character names, Act #'s
IMDB - Character Names
Google - Medical Jargon
Dictionary.com - For spelling of words that I'm unsure of that aren't picked up by Word
DVD/Tapes - When available, Closed Captioning is your friend.
Hulu - Some of the episodes are online with closed captioning available. (Be sure to double check if you're using the closed captioning though. It's not always 100% accurate)
Layout of the transcript should be similar to this:
Names all Capitalized: BRENNAN
Locations & actions in brackets: (he enters), (Medico Legal Lab - Platform)
"Episode Title", Episode #, Writer, Director and name of transcriber. - This information is nice to have, but not necessary - I can add them in afterwards. Just be sure to include your name as the transcriber.
Format: .doc is preferred. If you have to send in another type, I'm sure I can convert it. Just no .pdf's.
All finished transcripts are put up on the Bones Transcript Wiki and Bones Fans Online.
After reading through all the information above, if you would still like to transcribe an episode, please reply to this entry with the name of the episode you would like to transcribe. I will then add your name to the list and comment back. Upon completion of the transcript, you can comment here again and then send it to me @ traciepwns[at]gmail.com. I will then post them up on the sites listed above.
Thanks to everyone who has previously helped with transcribing and those of you who will be helping. It's very much appreciated. I definitely couldn't have done this all on my own.
