Welcome to 1topmodel, home of Livejournal's original top model simulation community. Founded in June of 2004, Livejournal's Next Top Model has given DEDICATED aspiring models/photographers and hobbyists the opportunity to take amazing pictures for their portfolios, has been a great source for feedback and critiques, and has allowed contestants and viewers alike,  to simply have fun! Specific guidelines for each cycle are posted prior to the start of the upcoming round.  An entry is posted in the community with the title "Application Round", and is also tagged under said title, as well as the tag "application".  General guidelines are as follows...

-Pictures MUST accompany completed application.  Applications that are submitted without pictures will be ignored.
-Completed applications must be submitted by the date required.  No exceptions.  If your application is late, it will be held for participation in the next cycle.
-7 Pictures should be included with your application...  

*Three CLEAR minimal make-up headshots (atleast one of these should be in black and white).
*Two full body shots (black and white is optional).
*One picture, or video, that you think best showcases your personality (have fun with this)
-One salute (a picture with both your hands, face, lj name, and the name of THIS community visible). Here is an example of an application thats done correctly.

*Indicates first official photoshoot. Please be sure that your pictures look like one cohesive shoot, excluding your salute.

-If you are under the age of 18, please be sure to have your parent's permission before applying to this competition.

-Please be aware that by applying to this competition, you are giving us (LJNTM) permission to use your pictures in videos, website, and graphics pertaining to the community.  Do not ask us to remove them 10 years down the line.  If you don't want them on the internet, don't bother applying.

-Remember that judges are here to critique you.  You WILL NOT like, or agree with EVERYTHING they say; however, if there is ever a time you feel as though a comment was totally uncalled for, please send your concerns to tm.judges@gmail.com. -Each time there is a photo shoot, we expect the pictures to be new. We as judges want to see your growth and progression as a model.


-Late submissions are incredibly annoying and make the judges dislike you, no matter how amazing your pictures are.  You have a week to submit your pictures, so be sure to schedule time to do your shoots.

-Please keep in mind that a cycle can last anywhere between 6 weeks to 10 weeks.  It is a commitment, but we're willing to work with you!  Good luck -Please do not rely on photoshop.  Excessive use of it should not be necessary.  If you'd like your pictures edited, someone on the graphic's team will do it for you. -Please be kind and courteous to everyone in this community. -Please do not promote other communities here.

-Everyone is free (and encouraged) to give their feedback, but please let it be constructive. No one wants to hear "wow, she's fugly" or "this community sucks". If you have that much of a problem with it, simply leave.
