| About: |  Welcome: This is the newest in a long tradition of writing challenges. Although I expect most of the response to be fanfiction, original fiction is also welcome. The twist on this one: It is exclusively dialogue, and each prompt-response is limited to two characters speaking, once each. One exchange. Character A speaking and Character B responding. The only thing permissible outside of dialogue is a proper noun or pronoun denoting the speaker and a single word dialogue tag, one of each per character per response. You never have to use names or speech tags, but they are the only non-dialogue writing permissible in this contest. So: "Tell me what you want," he said. "I don't want anything," she answered. Is okay. If 'she answered nervously'-- it wouldn't be. Who are your characters? Anyone you want. Fanfic characters, crossover characters, original fiction characters, yourself and your little brother-- I'm not picky. You do need to pick two characters about whom the pieces revolve, however. Each prompt-response can focus on both of them together, one, or the other, but at least one of the pair needs to be in each, and the overarching theme should be about how the two relate to each other. How's it work? Step One: Join the Community. This is not the same as watching the community-- if you don't actually join, you won't be able to post. Step Two: Make a comment here requesting your claim. You don't need to wait for any reaction from me: there are no rules over who you can claim or how many people can claim the same thing, so as soon as you decide you want a pair, they're yours. Step Three: Pick a prompt table here. You don't need to say which one you're using, just pick the one you like. Step Four: Start writing.
