Since we’re severely lacking recaps in one particular series, I present you with this: 
Re-reading it to do this recap, I now realize exactly why there are so few SVK recaps. These books are as boring as a great big boring thing. And this one is no different Check out Jessica’s sailor outfit. I think I had one similar to that…when I was FOUR. This, of course, is about half the age of our favorite twinkies. I seriously cannot believe that she volunteered to wear that. |

This is my very first Sweet Valley snark, and I know this one has been highly anticipated. Weirdly, I didn't think it lived up to the hype I remembered 13 years ago. Anyway, hope it doesn't disappoint!
So this is the cover (please note that it's a "Super Edition," but it still counts as #6 in the series. It's also no longer than any of the other books). We've got Mary's campaign poster with a 'stache clearly drawn by the bitch-faced Jessica, who is brandishing a Sharpie like she wants to stab Maria with it. I think Lila is holding the other end of the "Kimberly for President" banner. It could be Ellen, but since this never actually happens in the book, who knows? Liz is just standing in the corner looking constipated.

| SVT #38, Lois Strikes Back |

I just moved into a new apartment, where I was very excited to find built-in bookshelves in one of my closets. It's the perfect place to display my Sweet Valley and BSC books, while still keeping them "skeletons in the closet"!
I grabbed this one randomly this morning.
This picture of the cover looks kinda blurry, but that's Lois with the determined look on her face. She's wearing ... I don't even know what to call them ... pleated khaki trousers? With a tucked-in polo shirt? (Or is that a white vest over her blue polo shirt?) She also doesn't look that overweight. Next to her, dressed a little more appropriately for a bike-a-thon in his hot spandex shorts and yellow t-shirt, and looking very sinister, is Bruce Patman. Bruce looks a little bit like Jessica and Elizabeth on this cover (without the long blonde hair).

Sweet Valley High #74: The Perfect Girl I needed a break from Psychotic Margo, so I picked a book out of my closet at random, and this is the one I chose. In a nutshell: This book takes place over the course of about three weeks. Robin Wilson’s boyfriend, George, signs up for an intensive flying class. Because he isn’t able to hang out with her as much as usual, she gets anorexia and almost dies. But then she decides not to have anorexia anymore and is all better, which isn’t unrealistic or offensive at all. Oh, and the SVH cheerleaders decide to break the Guinness world record for biggest ice cream sundae, and Jess and Robin spend the whole book trying to out-bitch each other. |
