...reading a load of people arguing on the internet about how UFC/MMA is more "real" than boxing, or how UFC is just "human cock-fighting", then reading various people talking about how martial art/training X is better than Y... really, it's all just "Bruce Lee could totally have beaten up Chuck Norris" or "Bluestreak could kick Shockwave's ass dude"* isn't it?
Boxing isn't "real", UFC isn't "real". Staged fights just aren't real, they never will be. I suppose perhaps if there was a combat sport where you could try to smuggle a knife in or get your mates to break your opponent's legs before the fight that would be approaching "real". Or get knocked out, at which point the cops come in and pepper-spray your attacker, who then gets banged up for GBH. Or entirely avoid getting into a fight at all and instead sort your life out and end up happy, healthy and successful. PERFECT ROUND!
* I am prepared for the fact that more than one reader may well have an opinion as to whether Bluestreak could kick Shockwave's ass or not here, also that the answer is clearly "no".

My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken woman swigging her drink, as she sat alone at a nearby table.
My wife asks, 'Do you know her?'
'Yes,' I sighed. 'She's my old girlfriend. I understand she started drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.
'My God!' says my wife. 'Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?'

Hey everybody,
how are you?
It's been a while and a lot of things were going on lately.
First of all I want to let you know that one of my photobucket accounts' bandwidth has expired. I don't have the time to reupload ALL of the pics, but they will be automatically back after some days (maybe 2 weeks), so please be patient.
I'm sorry for this, but it seems quite a lot of people were staring at my pictures, far more than commenting here
, so I was kind of surprised that the bandwidth broke down XDDD
Anyway last Friday I went to Hiroshima for the first time (!) together with
leviosa8. I didn't check out any sightseeing spots, because she has seen all that stuff already and I can go another time alone to do so, so we spent a lot of time SHOPPING for fandom stuff. It was a great day. Actually I wanted to do another "Day of my Life"-entry for this day, but I was so busy that day that I forgot to take photos after a while (^^'')> .... sorry!
We went there by local train which took quite a while (~ 3 hours), but was ABSOLUTELY worth it! The landscape and the ocean, the nature, mountains, all the green, it's so beautiful. I tried to take some photos out of the train:
( Hiroshima, the sea, random discoveries )
On Saturday was a normal working day. Nothing special to report.
On Sunday though we had a BBQ. We, that is our boss, his family and all (?!) of my coworkers.
Well .... all is not true. Actually I was the ONLY non-Japanese person there! All the other foreign teachers didn't come for various reasons XDDDD .... But for me it was great! Surrounded by Japanese people only, I got to practice my Japanese quite a lot and it was REALLY on of the best days here so far (well all days off when I can leave this small city are great! XD) .....
( The SEA!!!! HOMG!!! And yummie food and and and ... kyah! <3 )

So as you can see I've been quite busy lately. During work days I don't have time for anything and when I do stuff like THAT *points above* on my days off, then I really don't have time for anything else.
I still have to plan my vacation which will start soon, but I didn't have time yet.
Any recs for me? I wanna go to Beppu and Nagasaki. Anything else that you can recommend to me and that is not tooooo far away from .. let's say Hiroshima/Fukuoka????
I'd really appreciate it!
I will be quite busy in the next few weeks as well. Just wanted to let you know, so please don't expect me to write or comment much :/
Sorry ;__; .....
( And finally as always: FOOD PHOTOS :D )

( Hungry? Well, I am! )
Okay that's all for now!
Going to take a break now and eat the ogurapan :D

See ya! (^-^)/

Chicken recipe that knocked my Dad's socks off

Hey! It was my Dad's birthday on Saturday the 19th, and so he came over last night for dinner. He, Andrew and I demolished two bottles of red wine. I never would have guessed, but Dan Akroyd's VQA shiraz is really nice! Only my Dad would pick up Dan Akroyd wine as a gift...anyway, this is the first time in my life I had my Dad over for a dinner that I cooked, due to my family's neuroses and our own checkered past. He missed the Thanksgiving dinner I cooked last year for Lisa, Andrew, my Grandpa, my cousin Kevin, and my siblings.. but I managed to impress him last night all the same.
Anyway, I cooked this recipe and I heartily recommend it if you like goat cheese, olives and chicken!
( Goat cheese and Olive Stuffed Chicken Breasts )
Katrina - do you remember when you yelled at me for using Shake-n-Bake two and a half years ago? :D
