Annie and Shannon

Shannon: Shannon smiles as the cab pulls up to her son's home. Her husband and other son would be flying up later. She couldn't wait to see her grandson. She pays the cabbie, taking her bag. She rings the doorbell, holding a present for Jay.

Annie: Annie opens the door with a smile, "Oh my God, what are you doing here?" She has Jay on her hip.

Shannon: She reaches to take her grandson, handing him the toy. "I couldn't stay away."

Annie: She grins, letting the boy go to her, "You should just live up here."

Shannon: "Who would take care of my husband?" She coos to the boy. "Do you like your big Al?"

Annie: "He could come too. To join the chaos." She smiles as the boy holds it, putting his head on her shoulder, "You caught us just before nap."

Shannon: "Can I put him down?"

Annie: "I don't know if he'll let you, but you're more than welcome to try."

Shannon: She squeezes the elephant to make it play music. "Come on Jaybird." She kisses his forehead. "I've got him." She carries the boy towards his room.

Annie: Annie smiles, sitting slowly on the sofa and rubbing her belly as she grabs her book from the table.

Shannon: Shannon sings to the boy, rocking him until he starts to fall asleep in her arms.

Annie: She smiles, listening to her, waiting for her to walk back out.

Shannon: She carefully puts the boy into his transitional bed. She tucks him in, careful to put his favorites within reach. "Grandma loves you Jay." She smiles, walking back to see Annie. "How are you doing?"

Annie: She smiles, "I'm fine, how about you?"

Shannon: "I'm good." She sits in the chair. "Jamie's at work?"

Annie: She nods, "With my father."

Shannon: She smiles. "He seemed to like it." She glances to Annie's book. "I'm not interrupting am I?"

Annie: She shakes her head, putting her marker in it and putting it back on the table, "Been reading that thing for months now, it's a habit."

Shannon: She picks it up. "What can I do for you while I'm here?"

Annie: "Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Get me to work out more."

Shannon: "I think you look fantastic." She smiles. "I read this. It's good."

Annie: She nods, "I think I look fat." She sighs, though her tummy is tight.

Shannon: "You look pregnant." She says softly.

Annie: She sighs, "Yeah."

Shannon: "My grandchildren." She smiles.

Annie: She nods, "They're rock hard."

Shannon: "Because you are thin." She nods. "I brought you some divinity.

Annie: "Divinity?"

Shannon: "The white candies you liked at Easter."

Annie: "Oh, fantastic." She smiles, rubbing her hard lump.

Shannon: She nods. "I can teach you how to make it anytime."

Annie: "Okay." She smiles, watching the woman.

Shannon: "Gotta get you trained in Southern cooking for my boys."

Annie: "I am trained plenty in cooking." She smiles.

Shannon: "Yes, but not in Southern methods. I bet you even throw away the grease when you cook bacon."

Annie: "That's just nasty."

Shannon: "You have to keep it." She looks shocked, teasing the girl.

Annie: "How about no."

Shannon: She snorts. "Makes food taste better."

Annie: "It doesn't."

Shannon: "You don't like my cornbread?"

Annie: "Yes, but not that aspect of it."

Shannon: She rolls her eyes. "I'll fix the Yankee in you yet."

Annie: "The Yankee has been in me since the Revolutionary war."

Shannon: She smirks. "We'll save you from it."

Annie: "Nah, maybe I'll save you from yours."

Shannon: She laughs, enjoyng her time with Annie.
