Annie, Jamie and Jay
Annie: Annie lets her husband sleep well past noon, her son down for his second nap of the day. She smiles, kissing his head.
Jamie: He wakes with a start. "What time is it?"
Annie: "I'm not telling you." She had unplugged all the clocks through the house.
Jamie: He gets up, looking for his watch. "I need to study."
Annie: "You are not studying today."
Jamie: "I have to."
Annie: "You don't. I checked things. You don't have to study."
Jamie: "I do Annie." He finds his watch. "Shit!"
Annie: "If you get up I'm going home and taking my son with me."
Jamie: "Our son." He swallows. "I can't just not study."
Annie: "My son. Why can't you not study?"
Jamie: "Because I only have two weeks before they start."
Annie: "And if you think studying like you were is going to give you an A...you're very wrong."
Jamie: He sighs. "It's how I usually do."
Annie: "Which is why you can do better."
Jamie: "I'm doing well."
Annie: "You are not."
Jamie: He gives her a look. "A 3.76 is pretty damn good."
Annie: "Could be better."
Jamie: He glares.
Annie: She smiles to him.
Jamie: "Maybe if you and Jay were here more often."
Annie: "This has nothing to do with us being here. It has to do with how you study."
Jamie: "I study as much as I can." He starts looking for his books.
Annie: "You aren't going to find them."
Jamie: "Annie!"
Annie: "What?" She folds her arms.
Jamie: "I need to study." He grumbles.
Annie: "No, you need to take a shower and we're going to go have some quality time."
Jamie: "I have to study tonight."
Annie: "You don't."
Jamie: "I do. I'm going to study and hold Jay."
Annie: "You won't. He's sleeping and you won't find any of your books."
Jamie: "Annie." He runs a hand through his hair.
Annie: "Or clocks...your watch is way off."
Jamie: "Why are you doing this?"
Annie: "Because I can. Because you're going to go two days without worrying about time."
Jamie: He swallows. "Why these two days?"
Annie: "Because I can and you're being a little bitch because you didn't go to the game."
Jamie: He looks away.
Annie: "So knock it off."
Jamie: "We could have gone if you wouldn't let me study."
Annie: "What? Shut up."
Jamie: He sighs. "Jay would have loved it."
Jay: The boy in question had woken up because of the noise. He waddles in, dragging his Dumbo. "Da?"
Annie: Annie smiles, "Tell your father to stop being a little bitch."
Jay: He looks at his dad. "No itch."
Jamie: Jamie shakes his head. "Not me buddy."
Annie: "Is too. He doesn't want to go to the zoo with us."
Jay: "Oo!" He hold up his elephant. "Ee Ol!"
Jamie: He picks up the boy. "Daddy will go. Daddy wanted to go see Big Al at the game yesterday."
Jay: "Jay too?" The boy blinks.
Jamie: "Next time." He laughs when the boy pouts.
Annie: "Daddy didn't tell me so I didn't know."
Jamie: He rolls his eyes. "Do you want to go to the zoo?"
Jay: "Oo!" He bounces.
Annie: "Yeah, and tomorrow we're going to the spy museum."
Jay: "Py!" The boy yells.
Jamie: Jamie sighs. "Just let me study tonight?"
Annie: "No studying for two days. I'll push it to three if you continue."
Jamie: He sighs. "Just an hour and you can time it?"
Annie: "Not even."
Jamie: He frowns. "Tell Mommy yes."
Jay: "Es!"
Annie: "No." She walks past him, "I have to get ready, we're going to the wax museum today too."
Jamie: "I'll dress him."
Jay: Jay bounces. "Ol! Ee Ol!"
Jamie: Jamie puts the boy down. "Go get your shoes and Daddy will be in to help.""
Jay: Jay runs out, still yelling.
Annie: She rolls her eyes, not far behind them.
