I did it again!
I wrote an essay about real life.

It's good though, uber sappy, but good.

It's about my daddy. I hope he doesn't read it, for parts of it has been dramatized, so let's just call it based on a true story

She folded her hands primly upon her lap and everything settled into place like the very first snow of winter. Neither her nor I have seen snow in our entire lives, but we imagine. She smiled a tiny spark of a smile, an ember that I cupped in my hands and blew into a full blaze. She closed her eyes then, warmed by her own fires. “Thank you.”

Was it her or I who said that?

Today, I told my daughter she was adopted. And she listened quietly and smiled and said, “Father, I have known for some time and I tell you it matters greatly that I am. I am grateful that you chose to love me, without the fetters of kinship and thus more purely than a blood parent.”

“I snuck into your room one night, I was already suspicious. I found your diary and I read how scared you were of holding me and loving me and held me and loved me nonetheless.”

Somewhere snow was falling in June, and everything here is perfectly in place.
