| 9:09 PM 10/14/09 · Along with not having a home internet connection, I'm still running Windows 98 on my home system. Both computers. Along with that I still have MS·DOS and the original Microsoft Anti·Virus program that came with the package. Truth, I barely ever used the Windows version and when I run a virus check, as superfluous as that may be, I can do it in DOS with a batch file so it does more than just the virus scan.
Anyways, MSAV (Microsoft Anti·Virus) does a basic visual display when it's running, counting down the directories and files as it processes through them. I usually don't watch it but sometimes I'll keep an eye on it if I'm doing something near the screen. It's because of this I've been deleting some files and other things I don't really need that're just taking up extra space...
...but directories were my main goal as of last month.
I shit you not, at the beginning of last month I noticed I had a grand total of 1,124 directories on my computer.
Could not let that stand.
I'm a little below that now.
12:14 AM 10/15/09 · I am such a special soul. Purely out of curiosity I decided to check how many directories I have now. After writing the above it seemed a simple thing to do. So, I kicked MSAV into gear and low and behold...
...I still have 1,124 directories!

| 2:45 AM 9/26/09 · So I set Unreal Tournament to play bots only in Monster Hunt and kicked back doing other things. When the game finally came to an end, my boys did good, I was surprised to find this one thing.

Please take note, center bottom, of the remaining time. | comments: Leave a comment |

| 2:12 AM 7/11/09 · As mentioned previously, shortly after making this community I stopped running into that special number as much as I had been. Still, that doesn't mean it's not still happening. I've just been trying to discount the ones at home that involve my clocks. It's been argued that I'm just very aware of the time at home so when I see it on a clock there it's not so spectaculaly odd.
11:24 pops on the clock twice a day. The fact I tend to see it not as it changes but while it's there is fairly standard with me but it's hardly Earth shattering.
Finished up something I'd been working on a long time yesterday morning at 11:24am. Something other happened for the pm one but I can't recall what now.
Just trying to do the home mentionings less. | comments: Leave a comment |

| Spent the weekend with Mom but on the way up I missed the bus. It takes about 15 minutes for another bus to arrive so to set a base time I checked my watch.
Guess what time it was?

| 4:38 PM 4/6/09 · On my way out earlier today I caught part of an episode of Las Vegas I wasn't familiar with so I flipped on the VCR to record it while I was gone. General setup is that it picks the initial start time for what actual time it is when you begin programming it.
It began recording at 11:24am | comments: Leave a comment |
| 11:33 PM 4/3/09 · Often after Laura spends the night she'll take me to the library when we head out. We got a bit of an early start this day, relatively speaking, and when her engine turned over and the power came up I saw it was 11:24am...
...which would've been impossible to predict.
She doesn't know how the clock in her car works and I've tried to work it out but I'm at a loss. The display constantly blinks, much like any digital clock would after a power outage, and the time is always wrong.
That number just won't leave me alone. | comments: Leave a comment |
| 11:25 AM 3/8/09 · I used to love watching Inside the Actor's Studio, barely ever missed an episode. Kinda fell out of the habit about a year or so back. So, this morning I'm flipping channels and there's Conan O'Brian as the interviewee (spelling?) and I'm still watching it...
...even though I've never really been that fond of the guy.
Daylight Saving's Time usually throws me for a loop because a lot of my stuff automatically adjusts with the change but a lot of other things don't. Lots of juggling room there, having to remember which is which. Anyway, I checked the time on the VCR (current TV doesn't have a clock) and I caught it at 11:24am.
Been so long since I've had an instance I blanched in surprise for a second. Just long enough for it to change. Still, there were those fateful numbers again. | comments: Leave a comment |
