Welcome to 100x100movies your place to share, request and enjoy icons made from your favorite movies.

You must read this bio when you join. We do delete posts, and we do ban people. There is no such thing here as, "I didn't know."

1.Please be respectful and show courtesy when posting to the community. That means be nice, don't spam, flame,troll, harass or otherwise be a bother to anyone.

2. Movie related icons only please! (This does include general icons of movie actors/actresses as well. But it does not include tv movies) All non movie related icons will be deleted. Please no off topic posts! ONLY icon related material allowed. Any post that is not related will be deleted.

3. This is a G-Rated community. All graphic content (including blood), profanity, and nudity must be behind an LJ-Cut with a warning. Do not post or comment with any icons containing graphic content, profanity, or nudity within the community. We want everyone to be able to enjoy this community, including those who view it from work.

4. Please credit the maker of the icon if you take one. A tutorial on this can be found here. Follow the rules that the person posts with their icons. FAQ located here on how to credit in the keywords. Also comments for when you take/or enjoy them are encouraged at least - let them know you appreciate their time.

5. Posts with more than three bases or icons need to be placed behind a LJ cut. No more than three icons are to be outside of an LJ cut. Read about them here it makes for easier loading. Respect your fellow members on slower connections.

6.Please make sure all your movies titles are listed somehow within your post. Please do not post more than 5 different movies within a post. You can only archive 5 keywords to a post, so this would mean all wouldn't be archived. But if you choose to do this your post will not be deleted but NONE of your icons will be archived.

7.If you want to direct link to another journal of ANY kind to show your icons. You must share at least 3 teaser icons within your community post. This is called "redirecting" and essentially all you're doing is using the community for advertisement. And no advertising is allowed. In other words, this community requires three teasers when linking to an outside post.

8.Please make sure all your icons meet the lj picture requirements.
-File size must be less than 40k
-Image dimensions must be no larger than 100x100 pixels
-File format must be either PNG, GIF or JPG
What is the point of posting icons if they can't be used?

9. Hot Linking and eating up bandwidth from a user's source is wrong, if it is brought to our attention that you do this you will be banned. Period.

10. ABOUT COMMUNITY PROMOS!
If you are a member of the community and you have your own related community , personal icon journal or icon website you'd like to promote leave a comment here with the link to your community and a brief explanation of what it's about. Your community will be placed in the Hot Link Bin (see further down) and once a month, the moderator will post an entry on the main page plugging related communties/icon journals belonging to members of this community.
Individual posts on the main page containing plugs for LJ communities/or personal icon journals (related or unrelated) will be deleted.

11. Requests are allowed. However, only requests from movies or movie actors will be allowed. Always check the community memories before requesting. That's what they're there for.

*Rules of the community are subject to change at anytime by the mod team. However, we will always make a post informing you of these changes. Joining the community means you have agreed to abide by the rules laid down in the community. Failure to comply with these rules can mean removal from the community.

If you feel like you can't follow these simple guidelines then maybe this is not the place for you. Otherwise, everyone is welcome. :)

How do I apply? What are the rules?

* Every Monday there will be a post asking you to nominate your favorite icon for that week. Leave a link and clearly state the number of the icon you are choosing in this post. You must provide the community url if the post is linked to another journal to show the icons. Failure to do this will automatically throw out your nomination. If there is any doubt the icon will be discarded.

* ALL icons posted from the previous Friday until the next Thursday are eligible.
The contest will close at midnight on Thursday (eastern)

*All icons must meet lj size requirements (see above community rules). Any icon that does not will be disqualified if nominated.

* Please only nominate ONE icon. And please don't nominate your own icons.

* Every Friday there is a post showing all the icons nominated and you vote for your favorite 3icons. Only ONE vote per member is permitted. Please do not vote for your own icons or get others to vote for yours. Voting closes Saturday at midnight (eastern). You can vote for up to 3 icons. If you vote for more, then your vote won't count towards the total.

* Sunday the winner is revealed.

- Each weekly winner goes to the monthly contest and the icon with the most votes goes to the yearly contest. The winner of the yearly contest will get a paid journal for a year with extra icons. This contest is held the first week of the new year.

-Banners are awarded to the winners and all nominees,In the weekly/monthly award posts.
Feel free to display them proudly on your websites, journal bio's and journals! No hotlinking! If you do you will automatically be banned from the community.
