Canon EOS 40D

En route to Plaza Sing. I'll be getting some photo frames and hopefully some modge podge, although it would be grossly overpriced at Spotlight.

I just finished Persuasion. It was soooo good! I loved the part when you find out Frederick is listening in on Anne's conversation and from what he overhears takes the time to write her a letter about his feelings when his purpose was to be writing to Benwick about some portrait or something. You could just feel the shock Anne felt when he left and then returned so suddenly and dropped the letter in front of her on pretense of getting his gloves and then ran off again.
This book is quite good, but it won't top my favorite. Pride & Prejudice will remain forever number one on my list. But Persuasion does rank pretty high. I might even like it more then Mansfield Park, which I quite liked a lot.
Now, I've just got War of the Worlds to finish. Though, I've only been reading a chapter a day of that. It's good, but a little boring? Which is hard to imagine considering I'm willing to wade through early 19th century English language structure. 20th century "English" should be a lot easier; and while I don't mind it, I find that I definitely prefer the structure and word choice of the previous century's writing. I think I'm also slightly annoyed with all the endnotes. Which I find to particularly annoying. I definitely prefer footnotes, especially if the information being given is only a sentence or so long. Being a history major, you'd think I'd have come to terms with this endnote business, but not so much. I still think it's annoying!
I'd like to get a copy of Jane Austen's Letters and read her uncompleted works too. I'll have to check Amazon and see if they have either one.

I am now in a relationship with myself on Facebook. Kiwi St. and Keywii St. I am happy with that. It is an open relationship.
My grandparents came up today. It was lovely to have them around. I canoed with Grampa and chatted with Memere.
We had a campfire with s'mores. Craig came up and fun was had.
I don't know what it is about Maine that can make a girl feel lonely. The cabin and the lovely solitude, somehow it makes me wish I had someone special to share it with.
Today I imagined lips pressed softly against the crook of my neck and a gentle arm tucked around my waist as I sat watching the fire. It was a first. I hope that is not further proof that I am going insane.
I've been feeling the summer-time occasional loneliness since I was 14, since I understood that in my life I wouldn't mind that form of temporary companionship either. It's been half a decade. Sometimes it makes me grin, shake my head and laugh. Other times I frown. Many times I do both.
Today I'm just smiling. Sometimes it's maddening to know I have another wait ahead of me, but most of the time I'm just excited. For the seduction (both ways) and the snuggles and the campfires. I'm excited to see how it falls into play.
Today I pictured myself in an embrace, in a relationship, being comforted and held... I wasn't repulsed. I smiled confidently and knew it was attainable. It may not be much, but it's something.
It's only 3 a.m. and I'm considering sleep. Progress is sweet.

It's my weekend off and I am strangely excited to have three days off. It's funny because it's Thursday and I haven't worked since last Friday and yet it hasn't felt like proper time off. Probably because of all the family stuff and the guilt related to taking unscheduled time off even though it was okay to do so.
General thank you to all who left me messages on the post about my family! Really appreciate it!
I have gotten my computer mostly to where I want it to be, aside from a couple of small programs left to install and the naming of it. Thank you to those folks who have submitted ideas so far!
I know that Win Vista is all terrible and everything, but it seems to be running fine for me. I haven't had any trouble with installing anything aside from my printer drivers which said that Vista did not support. That happened when I tried to autorun the CD to install the drivers, but when I plugged the printer in, Vista just picked up the drivers off the CD and that was that. I also found a free Anti-Virus program that got 4 and a half stars out of five average from 76 customer reviews on C-Net and I am working on getting that up and running so I can install and connect my external drive and scan it and get my files transferred over. I have the registration key, just haven't done anything with it yet!
The computer also came pre-installed with Picasa! I used to use that at work and I forgot how cool it was as a photo search program! It'll be great when I finally choose pictures for Aerin's 1st Year scrapbook!
I killed my mother's desktop computer, installing System Suite on it. I still maintain that the program is worth the $40 for the recovery disk and file back up, but the actual program is a piece of CRAP! I thought her computer was dead in the water, but the rescue disk allowed me to backtrack it to before I installed SS on it and that seemed to work and it's back to running as fine as it was before, (which is not really very fine, but that part isn't my fault).
So I have a learned a lot about computers in a very short amount of time. :P I plan to study up on the booklets that came with my new pc and make some rescue/recovery disks and start doing a weekly back up of the files. I will NOT get into the same problem as I just did. At least though, I was half smart and did some back up before it all happened. Next time I will be fully smart!
Anyways ...
Three days off! Tomorrow Adrian is working and I will sleep till lunchtime (work related ... I am not being a slacker) and then go pick up Aerin from Granny's house. I have to get a few things from Viroqua, so we'll go to Wal-Mart and Nelson Agri-center and possibly that Rock shop and see what's in there! Then off home for Aerin to have a snooze and I'll clean the house. I have projects to do over the weekend and I CaNNOT do them if my house is filthy.
Possibly though, I believe I will take Aerin home first and clean and then when she wakes up, we'll go to Viroqua. I think that is the better idea... that way, when we get home, we'll have dinner and bath and story and she'll go to bed and I can just start my projects.
I have a table to paint and I'm tossing up between buying a can of spray paint or getting a small can of black paint. The spray paint is easy to apply BUT I'd have to go to Granny's house to do it as there is really no place for me to do it at my house. Whereas if I just buy paint, I can spread newspaper and do it wherever. PLUS, the top is already painted and if the wind got hold of the black spray paint and got it all over my white top surface, I would be really annoyed. Nelson Ag has a good selection of small paint tins for small jobs and I already have paintbrushes, so I think that is what I will do!
I also have a scrapbook to finish so I will most likely send some photos up to wal-mart or take some up there for 1 hour photo on a disk. Don't know yet. As long as I get some photos. I think that will be my saturday night project if I get my painting done on Friday.
Sometime also during the weekend, I'll answer my outstanding emails and lj comments and finish off getting programs installed on my PC. I went through them this evening and deleted all the stuff I didn't need to worry about and went from 127 down to 40. So it wasn't all that bad while I was unable to access at home. I also plan to redo my LJ... time for a change. I have a great idea, but it might take a little time. My cousin will love it!
Then there is the writing ... I am so behind.
Also, you know what I hate... I haven't seen ANY Dr. Who since the end of the last season or Torchwood since the first three eps of season 2 (just seriously, no downloadable access and I don't have the cable channels to be able to watch it) and people are posting all over the place about it and it's killing me that I can't read any of it or I'll get spoiled. Nice that people are putting it behind a cut, but still ...
That's all I'm going to say about any of the above and close up this post.
I'm a PC and I'm a craft nerd!
