Thanks for posting these! I just don't have the time to try out those puzzles (and I'd probably suck at them, anyway).

So, I'm getting that humanity pretty much allowed something to infiltrate it and that these guys are in the underground resistance or some such thing. Which amuses me, because every time I see "Cloverfield" I have a knee-jerk reaction of relating it to "Torchwood," since they're such innocuous names (has anyone tried to find out if you can mix up the letters in Cloverfield to be something else? haha)

I agree with you about the whole underground resistance. It fits well.
As for the letter re-arranging, another good idea. I'll have to look into it.

It's not just you. Apparently, there used to be only one picture on display. It was only within the last day or so that the second one popped up. I expect more images or clues will show up at that site as time goes on.

No one knows for sure, but it looks to me that each person who solves all five puzzles at http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com is given a unique code he's to record and remember.

Once August 1 rolls around, the web site may no longer be making these puzzles available. Perhaps there will then be some way for people to punch in their codes, at which point, the "next step" in this whole process may be shown.

Maybe it's a way to let only a limited number of devoted fans to see more pictures/clips/information. Or it could lead to another set of puzzles.

But I think it's pretty safe to say we'll know more on that day what the movie could be about.

It turns out it's actually a seven-letter Latin word. Myself and at least one other person at the Ethan Haas Was Wrong blog has gotten the same word. If you've solved all five puzzles, you'll know what it is.

Just a thought as I am trying to catch up on the 1-18-08 ARG...

You say that there are various ending clues. Doesn't the guy say that the more people the more powerful. I would guess that this perhaps means that we will have to share the ending clue we each get to make a sentence or some other clue. just a thought and ignore if this has already been covered.

I've gotta try and remember to take a crack at the puzzles when I get home and on a PC that has flash installed.

That's wonderful. Thank you for the transcriptions! I made it through all the puzzles, but due to being hobbled by a rather old machine, the videos simply didn't play right. Might I ask you, as one member to another, to place the transcriptions behind a cut, though? I imagine there's going to be a lot of little clues and games over the next little while, and personally, I enjoy giving them a stab on my own before finding out the answers, and lj-cuts always make that just a little bit easier. ^_~

Hi....I think I should point out that there is someone alive maintaining the email address van@ethanhaaswasright.com. If you email the address with questions you will get personalized responses to them within 48 hours or so (though you'll also get that auto-reply message each time). I've emailed "Van" a couple of times to see what he would say and I've received very interesting responses that I haven't seen posted elsewhere. First I emailed him and asked "Who is Mezin Source?" i.e. the poster at ethanhaaswaswrong.blogspot.com. He replied:

"It's not a person, it's a group, a very ancient sect. These are dangerous "people", be careful trying to dig too deep....

I've never seen them myself, I'm not sure anyone has, for a very long time....."

I then asked him where I could find the writings of Ethan Haas. He replied:

"very few copies remain, we are trying to publish some pages online, we will keep you posted."

This adds a bit to the puzzle. I hope that helps!

Some people here: http://www.eurotransient.com/page/2/ have emailed Mezin Source and received replies too. They wrote:

thats what I thought at first too, but the "Meinz Source" that is posting on the blog that seems to be part of the ARG also has a G mail account...so it could be that this email is for real too.
