I know the info I posted before turned out to be bogus, sorry guys! Anyway all this info is from IMDB, I'm just relaying it here! I don't claim any credit.

A possible related website is Slusho.com, a website for some Japanese drink.
Some facts that may prove it to be related:
- The drink was featured on the show Alias (also created by JJ) and doesn't actually exist. Not sure if it's been confirmed that it was on the show.
- According to this website, "The ID tags for the shoot on the trucks say "Slusho: You can't eat more than 6" and a drawing of a slurpee-like drink."
- One of the guys in the trailer is wearing a Slusho shirt. Here's a screencap.
- Slusho is a Japanese company. Rob was planning on leaving NY for Japan. Maybe a connection?
- A couple more connections in this post and it's comments as well.

see the IMDB thread here for more updates and stuff.

Good stuff. Along with that, maybe we can get some other leads too on what little info we can squeeze out of www.1-18-08.com.

The Slusho website looks like a fake product site to me for two reasons:

1: No way to buy it? I've never seen a real product site that had NO WAY to order or find out where to buy a product. I have, however, seen loads of fake ones that did just that. Broken links, "under construction"s, etc.

2: Japanese site, with japanese navigations... and large blocks of proficient english text? Japanese sites, in my experience, rarely do that. If it was going to have that much english text, it would be with japanese text as well, or with a separate japanese site, etc etc. This site is clearly designed for english readers - the only japanese on the site is of almost no consequence.

I'm not sure it's for Cloverfield, but I don't believe that it's for a real product at all.

Well, the biggest giveaway is it's connection to Alias, but it just seems to kawaii to be related to 1-18-08 for some reason.

Archive.org doesn't pick up anything from this website, so it definitely hasn't been around for that long, otherwise it would've picked up something.

And comparing whois and the website's source doesn't reveal much.

The only thing that correlates is the fact that they're BOTH using Google Analytics.

Great find!

If you e-mail the "satoshi@slusho.jp" address under "feedback" you get an autoreply that says:

"Slusho! loves your mails!! You Can't Drink Just Six!!!"

OK, I'm confused.

The IMDB listing has Mike Vogel playing "Rob." Soo... either that screencap can't be of Mike Vogel (because "Rob" is wearing a suit when he comes into the party), or they have his part listed wrong.

Actually, considering that he came by himself, I'm going to guess that the surprise party was at his place, planned after he was coming home from work. No doubt he probably changed at the party, if it is indeed his place.

I mean, who wants to party in a suit when they could get crunk in a Slusho shirt?

But he's still wearing the suit up on the roof when the cameraman jokes that he should have left town sooner.

haha yeah.

I'm having complex issues. Everyone looks the same, and I swear this one guy I capped, looks like Robert Goulet :3

The Parasite is a Voltron-esque monster made up when Robert Goulet, Dane Cook, Paris Hilton, Dennis Hopper, and Michael Jackson all get together.

BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.

That is sooo funny that you mentioned Dennis Hopper because I was just reading his quote about saying something about Speed 3 being a river of shit, and trying to get gold out of it.

X-Files love.

Dennis Hopper is (to me) sort of like cruise control for crazy.

Have you heard a new X Files movie is in the works?

I haven't looked it up in awhile, but now that you mention it, might take a break from the madness that is JJ and see what the status is on that.

huh. didn't really notice that before! the poster on IMDB said it was Mike Vogul so I just assumed it was. But yeah you're right, Rob is wearing the suit in the entire trailer so. I'll change the post. Thanks for pointing it out!

There's also another good entry on this same topic that was posted earlier in this community. Maybe you can link to it from here so we can keep a chain of findings on this topic...

Read the history of Slusho. The secret ingredient is something from the cold, deep ocean.

I think that this article AICN get before JJ know about finding of Slusho.jp, so count with it - its definetly right place (same logo and that history cant be related to anything other or normal :o) - it prefectly fit in).

Ha! Well, maybe they will go totally original. Maybe it'll be shades of THE STUFF, a terrible 80's movie where everyone ate this parasitic frozen yogurt marshmallow stuff.
