Hey everyone

I know that everyone is aware of the situation in Israel. Over 50 Israeli soldiers have died in the past few weeks. One of those soldiers is a former Hagesher USYer, Michael Levin. Mike was a participant on USY High and went to Camp Ramah Poconos when he was growing up. He moved to Israel after graduating from high school. He was killed on Tuesday, along with two other soldiers, when Hezbollah guerillas ambushed his unit. He was 22 years old. He was buried on Thursday afternoon at Mt. Herzl.

Please keep Mike, his parents, two sisters (one of them his twin), and friends in mind in these difficult days.

As you guys should know, Israel is undergoing some serious hezbollah attacks and is taking war action in Lebanon. Tourism markets and other economy markets go down during war time. People don't invest as much in Israeli companies. You can help. I encourage all of you to help Israel's economy by purchasing bonds or suggesting the ideas to other people you know at your temple or wherever. A bond is money you give to Israel to keep for a while. Once the bond matures, there is more money in it for you. This is an effective way of helping the economy. Bonds make good gifts as well. Go to www.israelbonds.com/local.html and find your nearest local office to purchase Israel bonds.

[ mood | Pissed off ]

RIP Daniel Wultz.

What makes me EVEN MORE ANGRY. Is that some Islamofascist  compared Daniel to the very same scum of the earth suicide bomber.
The writer explained that Daniel was worse than this moron because the bomber was fighting for his country and fighting for Allah while Daniel was not fighting for anyone or anything, but was also surrounded by a city full of prostitution and gays.

It is these idiotic people in our world that make me sick.

Say a prayer for the Wultz family.

I'd like to make a clarification in regards to the post that Megan Berlin (justdancingthru) made yesterday.

The election results she posted are Not SWUSY election results.

SWUSY elections will not take place until May 30.

Those were results from RASHI USY, a chapter in Richardson, TX (suburb of Dallas).

JERUSALEM - He never got an invitation and he certainly didn't R.S.V.P., but that didn't stop Will Smith from crashing Atir Cohen's bar mitzvah at Jerusalem's Western Wall.

Cohen, 13, was deep into his Torah reading Thursday when he heard shouting and saw girls pushing against the barrier separating men from women at the holy site to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood superstar.

"At first I didn't know who it was," Cohen said. Smith compensated for the interruption by shaking the bar mitzvah boy's hand and posing for a picture with him.

Surrounded by a security detail, Smith approached the wall and put a note in the cracks in keeping with tradition.

Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, then took a tour of an excavated tunnel alongside the wall. The tour leader was Shmuel Rabinovitch, chief rabbi of the holy site, who said the couple took notes and spent several minutes praying.

"He is a very nice man, he was very excited and showed his emotions," he said.

Smith and his wife later visited the nearby Church of the Holy Sepulcher, built on the site where many Christians believe that Jesus was crucified.
