Rifles [24 Nov 2013|02:08am]

oakleytexas1
I bought yet another rifle last week it's my happy EAS slash merry Christmas slash boss status job reward to myself. I'm going to central Alabama for thanksgiving to go hunting with and spend time with my girl. Never imagined I'd have a gal tell me to bring guns that's plural. It's going really well all in all for life dunno it's like utter disbelief that everything is working out so well. In about 3 weeks I'll have my 45 day eval which is extremely important and there shouldn't be any surprises my team likes me and my daily feedback all points to nothing to worry about I'll be an employee of GE for some time which is good because I'm extremely happy with my current situation I get to do something I find fun and can't make an extremely good living doing it. Don't have to be rich just want to live comfortably. My current romantic interest she's just amazing and well see where it goes she may very well come play house with me in a few months that discussion I feel is better face to face and I'll address that next week. The previous post was towards a possible creeper and well let it be.

If this aint the truth... [30 Oct 2008|11:52pm]

[ mood | happy ]

She was staring out the window of their SUV
Complaning, saying "I can't wait to turn 18"
She said "I'll make my own money, and I'll make my own rules"
Mamma put the car in park out there in front of the school
Then she kissed her head and said "I was just like you"

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

Before she knows it she's a brand new bride
In a one-bedroom apartment, and her daddy stops by
He tells her "It's a nice place"
She says "It'll do for now"
Starts talking about babies and buying a house
Daddy shakes his head and says "Baby, just slow down"

Cause you're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

Five years later there's a plumber workin' on the water heater
Dog's barkin', phone's ringin'
One kid's cryin', one kid's screamin'
And she keeps apologizin'
He says "They don't bother me.
I've got 2 babies of my own.
One's 36, one's 23.
Huh, it's hard to believe, but...

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this"

I dont take my whiskey to extremes
Dont believe in chasin crazy dreams
My feet are planted firmly on the ground
But darlin when you come around

[chorus]
I get carried away by the look by the light in your eyes
Before I even realize the ride Im on
Baby Im long gone
I get carried away nothin matters but bein with you
Like a feather flyin high up in the sky on a windy day
I get carried away

It might seem like an ordinary night
Same ol stars same ol moon up high
But when I see you standin at your door
Nothins ordinary anymore

Tim McGraw - Not A Moment Too Soon

I was standing at the end of my rainbow
With nowhere to go and no pot of gold in sight
All my wishes were just way too much to hope for
But when I saw you I knew I'd seen the light

And not a moment too soon
Without a minute to spare
You touched my heart
When I didn't have a prayer
In my darkest hour
With my world filled with gloom
Your sweet love saved me
Not a moment too soon

I used to think that love would never find me
And the one who cares was lost somewhere in time
But when you found me I knew I'd found forever
You rescued me just before I crossed the line

And not a moment too soon
Without a minute to spare
You touched my heart
When I didn't have a prayer
In my darkest hour
With my world filled with gloom
Your sweet love saved me
Not a moment too soon
Your sweet love saved me
Not a moment too soon
Not a moment too soon
i'm a redneck and proud of it

I'd spend a lot more time in the pouring rain without an umbrella
Covering my head
And I'd stood up to that bully when he pushed and called me names
But I was too afraid
And I'd a gone on and saw Elvis that night he came to town
But mama said I couldn't
And I'd a went skinny dipping with Jenny Carson that time she dared me to
But I didn't

Oh I, I'd done a lot of things different

I wished I'd a spent more time with my dad when he was alive
Now I don't have the chance
I wish I had told my brother how much I loved him before he went off to war
But I just shook his hand
And I wish I had gone to church on Sunday morning when my grandma begged me too
But I was afraid of God
And I wish I would've listened when they said Boy, you're gonna wish you hadn't
But I wouldn't

Oh I, I'd done a lot of things different

People say they wouldn't change a thing, even if they could
Oh but I would

There was this red dress she wanted one time so bad she could taste it
And I should've bought it, but I didn't
She wanted to paint our bedroom yellow and trim it blues and greens
But I wouldn't let her, wouldn't a hurt nuthin
She loved to be held and kissed and touched but I didn't do it
Not nearly enough
And if I'd a known that dance was going to be our last dance
I'd a asked that band to play on and on on and on

Oh I, I'd done a lot of things different

People say they wouldn't change a thing, even if they could
Oh but I would
Oh whoa Oh I, I'd done a lot of things different
Oh I, I'd done a lot of things
I think we've all do a lot of things different

Cheater Cheater-Joey and Rory [23 Sep 2008|12:41am]

Cheater cheater where'd you meet her, down at Ernies bar? Did she smile your way, twirl her hair and say, how cute dimples are? Did she use that line 'your place or mine' while you danced with her real slow? Tell me cheater cheater where'd you meet that no good white trash ho.

Liar liar did you buy her whiskey or rum
Did you hide your ring in the pocket of your jeans or did you just keep it on
When the deed was done and you had your fun did you think I wouldn't know? tell me cheater cheater where'd you meet that no good white trash ho

Now I'm not one to judge someone that I ain't never met
But to lay your hand on a married man's bout as low as a gal can get
Hey I wish her well and she rots in hell and you can tell her I said so
Cheater cheater where'd you meet that no good white trash ho

Loser loser hope you love her cause you're stuck with her now
Take your sorry butt load up all your stuff and get the hell out of my house
but I just wish you'd tell me this one thing before you go
Tell me cheater cheater where'd you meet that low down uptown, slept with every guy around, pressed on eyelash no good white trash ho

Make the World Go Away- Eddy Arnold
Make the world go away
Get it off my shoulder
Say the things we used to say
And make the world, make it go away
Do you remember when you loved me
Before the world took you away
Well if you do, then forgive me
And make the world, make it go away
Make the world go away
Get it off my shoulder
Say the things we used to say
And make the world, make it go away
Now I'm sorry if I hurt you
Let me make it up to you day by day
And if you will please forgive me
And make the world, make it go away
Make the world go away
Get it off my shoulder
Say the things we used to say
And make the world, make it go away

My favorite song at the moment:

Gary Allan - Learning How To Bend

I'm still learning how to pray
Trying hard not to stray
Try to see things your way
I'm still learning how to pray
I'm still learning how to trust
It's so hard to open up
And I'd do anything for us
I'm still learning how to trust

Chorus:
I'm still learning how to bend
How to let you in
In a world full of tears
We'll conquer all our fears
I'm still learning how to fly
I wanna take you higher
I'll be there till the end
I'll be your lover and your friend
I'm still learning how to bend

I'm just trying to understand
It's all in someone else's hands
There's always been a bigger plan
But I don't need to understand

Chorus:
I'm still learning how to bend
How to let you in
In a world full of tears
We'll conquer all our fears
I'm still learning how to fly
I wanna take you higher
I'll be there till the end
I'll be your lover and your friend
I'm still learning how to bend

I'll be there till the end
I'll be your lover and your friend
I'm still learning how to bend
I'm still learning how to bend
I'll be there till the end
I'm still learning how to bend

Well, I'm new here around here, but I've been a fan of country music since I was born practically.  :)  I just thought I'd post these lyrics here ... this song reminds me so much of me and my little sister when we were younger.  I think it fits pretty much every little girl at some point.  *shrug*

Fireflies
Faith Hill

Before you met me i was a fairy princess
I caught frogs and called them prince
And made myself a queen
Before you knew me I traveled 'round the world
I slept in castles and fell in love
Because I was taught to dream

I found mayonnaise bottles and poked holes on top
To capture Tinkerbell
They were just fireflies to the untrained eye
But I could always tell

I believe in fairy tales and dreamer's dreams like bed sheet sails
And I believe in Peter Pan and miracles
And anything I can to get by
And fireflies

Before I grew up I saw you on a cloud
I could bless myself in your name and pat you on your wings
Before I grew up I heard you whisper so loud
"Life is hard, and so is love, child, believe in all these things"

I found mayonnaise bottles and poked holes on top
To capture Tinkerbell
And they were just fireflies to the untrained eye
But I could always tell

Before you met me I was a fairy princess
I caught frogs and called them prince
And made myself a queen
Before you knew me I traveled 'round the world
And I slept in castles and fell in love
Because I was taught to dream

SHeDAISY - 360 Degrees of You [27 Jun 2007|04:23pm]

[ mood | flirty ]

I wish you lived on the corner where I live
So I could look at you all the day long
Lickety lip got me flippin' my lid, yeah
Nibblin' my thumb 'cause I want me some
Oooo, Oooo, Oooo just a little bit a
Oooo, Oooo, Oooo
Am I making you uncomfortable?

And if you lived on the corner where I lived
I'd hang around like an apple in a tree
Borrow some bread, stick of butter,
cup of milk,
And some sugar for me- I'm cookin'
something sweet
Oooo, Oooo, Oooo just a little bit a
Oooo, Oooo, Oooo

Lookin' once, lookin' twice
Better get me a bucket of ice
Go on do whatever you do
I'll just sit here enjoying the view
Whistlin' Dixie
360* of you- Oooo, Oooo

I picture me twisted up in your t-shirt
Pink lemonade and a squeaky porch swing
Don't know your name yet, I guess it wouldn't hurt
If you gave me a ring- a big diamond ring
Oooo, Oooo, Oooo
Oooo, Oooo

Lookin' once, lookin' twice
You're a splash of Tabasco on
hot apple pie
Baby girls like it too
Like to sit around enjoying the view
Whistlin' Dixie, 360
Whistlin' Dixie, 360* of you, Oooo, Oooo

Just a little bit of you, Oooo, Oooo
Gotsta, gotsta have you, Oooo, Oooo
Just a little bit of you, Oooo, Oooo
Oh, I'm gonna have you

Has anyone heard of this new country artist Rissi Palmer?
Apparently she sings a bunch of different genres but I was watching CMT just 10 minutes ago and she's pretty good. Her song is "Country Girl" and I can't find the lyrics anywhere to post them but they're good!
Check out her website: http://www.1720records.com/artist_rissi.html

Carry On-Pat Green

Baby's just a little bit tired of the city
Billboards and bullshit got her down
Seem like you need a little hill country
A little back roads driving
Little bit of the old top down

Yeah, everybody gotta get away sometime
Forget about yourself for awhile
Seems to me that all you need is a ragtop car to ride with me
Ok, alright, just might get a little high tonight
Ok, alright, carry on

Ol' Walt Wilkins lives up in Nashville
You know his eyes have seen the miles
Walt why don't you jump in Jim T's caddy
Come down to Texas and drink with me awhile

Yeah, everybody gotta get away sometime
Forget about yourself for awhile
Will go down to El Arroyo
Have some tacos and beer
Yeah, and let ourselves go
Ok, alright, just might try to get a ride tonight
I'm okay, I'm alright, carry on

Life will make sure that you got your troubles
Life will make sure that you work too hard
Ain't nobody that don't get tired
Watching troubles pile up big in your own backyard
Sometimes you've got to grab your world with your own two hands
Set it spinning off on a course all your own
Take yourself a big bag for your shoulder
Find yourself some good times
Bring them on back home

Yeah, everybody gotta get away sometime
Forget about yourself for awhile
Lay your whole life upon a shelf
Got no one to blame but your own damn self
Ok, alright, heaven only know what gonna happen tonight
Ok, alright, I'm ok, I'm alright
I'm ok, I'm alright
I'm ok, I'm alright
Oh, carry on, yeah

I'm going on a 9 hour road trip on tomorrow night to drive down to the Stagecoach Country Music Festival for my friends and I really want to make a few new cds to listen to on the way down there and back up.

Buuuuut I'm kinda lacking on ideas for what I want on there. So I was wondering if everyone could help me out. Could you please post as many of your favorite songs as you want for me? I'd appreciate it a lot.

I like 90's country a lot. But I like newer country too. Basically anything fun, or that you really like. Thanks in advance.

This is xposted to a few more country sites too, sorry.

Dusty Drake [30 Apr 2007|01:36pm]

I have fallen in love with this song!

Dusty Drake "Say Yes"

We've only known each other since the moment we met
But it seems like forever to me
I haven't figured out the perfect way to say it yet
But I suppose at times like these
A man should get down on his knees

Chorus

How'd'ya like to be in my wedding
(And) how'd'ya like to walk down the aisle
You could be the center of attention
Everyone would look at you and smile
We could send our friends invitations
You could wear a long white dress
If you'd like to be in my wedding, darlin'
All'ya have to do is say, 'Yes'

2nd Verse

Your folks could be seated in the very front row
And cry when we all turn to look at you
We could cut the cake
And we could strike a pose
Like the little bitty plastic bride and groom
And then begin our life-long honeymoon

(Repeat Chorus)

Say, 'Yes'
Say, 'Yes'
(How'd'ya like to be in my wedding)
Please say, 'Yes'
(How'd'ya like to be in my wedding)
Say, 'Yes'
(How'd'ya like to be in my wedding)
(How'd'ya like to be in my wedding)
(How'd'ya like to be in my wedding)

This song is by Bucky Covington,he was on American Idol last year,go pick up his debut cd it came out today.

We were born to mothers who smoked and drank
Our cribs were covered in lead-based paint
No childproof lids
No seatbelts in cars
Rode bikes with no helmets
and still here we are
Still here we are

We got daddy's belt when we misbehaved
Had three TV channels you got up to change
No video games and no satellite
All we had were friends and they were outside

Playing outside

It was a different life
When we were boys and girls
Not just a different time
It was a different world

School always started the same everyday
the pledge of allegiance, then someone would pray
not every kid made the team when they tried
We got disappointed but that was alright

We turned out alright

It was a different life
When we were boys and girls
Not just a different time
It was a different world

No bottled water
We'd drink from a garden hose
And every Sunday,
All the stores were closed.

It was a different life
When we were boys and girls
Not just a different time
It was a different world

It was a different life
When we were boys and girls
Not just a different time
It was a different world

It was a different world
